BE MY VALENTINE

WARNING; It's a long post so be sure to read so you know why I made this

I never want flowers or chocolate for Valentines.  I'm not down on Valentines or anything.  It has taken me years to train my husband not to spoil me.  At first he thought I was saying no to flowers when really I wanted them.  For me, I always tell him, "Everyday is Valentines Day" with you.  OK don't leave...I actually mean it.  My husband is extremely affectionate...unlike the woman he married (that would be me).  It's a miracle I am loved so well and it was/ is a long road to believe I am deserving of it...but that's a whole other boring post.

Onto all the fun stuff....

I BUSTED my A$$ to make this project.  I didn't even think about it until 9:00am yesterday morning.  My husband travels every week out of Province and yes even on this day.  I wanted to make something special as he won't be with any of us:(  I have prepared a day of opening gifts with little bits of love sprinkled here and there...Oops just got a toothache!  Here we go...there are 5 in all.

As seen of FACEBOOK

Mini envelope with tag.  I added a cork from a bottle of wine we shared in Vernon and a box of treats to open on the plane.  You know, those sugar candies with the "Kiss Me" sentiments all wrapped in TH paper.

Make the edges of a paper bag decorative.

I used my Spellbinder at the end of the bag and ran it through my CB.  Be sure the end you want cut is "under" the paper.

LOOK, I MADE A MATCH BOOK!

Here I have it open.  Inside there is a $5 Starbucks card.  When my husband gets to the airport in the morning he always has one.  The mini red striped bag you can get HERE.  Including all the sentiments I used.

Midday (these are out of order)  he gets to open another treat, a Skor Bar.  Last week he mentioned he hadn't had one is forever.  Yep, that's right I was listening!

I decorated this mini Kraft Bag, perfect for treats such as a SKOR!

This bag is STUFFED with treats.  This is his mid morning gift to open and share with his staff.  It's a new position he has taken on, so connecting with staff any chance he can get helps.

The bag stamped for the "Staff Treats"

End of day in his hotel he gets to open his last Valentines present.  This bag is full of chocolate Looney's (that's our $1 coin for those that may not know) and fabric rose petals.  I created this tag and with my Versamark Pen I wrote "Looney For You" then embossed.

I made this tag a couple weeks ago and have it attatched to a small dog stuffy and Toblerone Bar.  That's where I wrote all that lovey dovey stuff.

I then stuffed my bag with all the treats...a lot to open in his hotel.

I decorated the bag with my TH goodies, gears, clock and stamps.

All together it is a lot.  But all day he will be reminded he is missed and loved.

My Valentine

I wanted to store all the treats in brown paper bags.  This way I could decorate, make it easy to travel and hide his stuff.  Everything I used  is what I had so in all the gift was $20.  But hours to prepare.  I had no clue how it would all end up.  Thanks for stopping in and sorry for all the photo's.

WISHING YOU A HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Halloween Decor- Pennies a project

SIX PROJECTS ON A DIME!

Are you looking for some Halloween Decor ideas?  I have a few for you.  These are projects I have been working on for the past couple of weeks.  BANNERS
I made Boo and Beware for my 2 corner windows.  These are cut from Birthday Bash, using Recollections Halloween paper and Stampin Up Halloween Paper.
I made this Tim Holtz Banner, "Trick or Treat".  Hangs over my spooky dining room.  Black sheets are there for the holidays.
Cut from Birthday Bash and the frames/ font are a Sophisticated cut.  I added beads from Walmart and skulls are a $1 store necklace cut up.
This BIG Banner is "Happy Halloween"
The charms are Walmart and the tulle is from an old Halloween costume.  This glitter spiders are a $1 store find.

Happy Halloween!
Candles
Cheap-o-la...You can make this on a budget...promise!  I picked these candelabras up from Michaels for $12 at 50% off.  I bought them on a day they there was an additional 25% off so in the end they were less than…

Altered Halloween Advent Calendar w/ Video

WOW, I think this is my biggest Halloween project yet.  It took me 5 days to complete and I could have kept adding!!!  As you know I adore Halloween and yes I have begun bringing out my Halloween goodies.  Lots of photos in this post and there is so much to see.  So lets get into the project and get you inspired for Halloween!
I was asked by Scrapbooker's Paradise (where I teach) to make one of these Kaiser Craft Shadow Boxes...with a Halloween Theme!!!  Arm twisted and mission accepted.  I am going all Tim on this one! I started by spraying all the pieces with a Hammered Finish in a gun metal grey. The set even comes with numbers;) I used My Minds Eye Happy Haunting paper to create each box with a great pattern paper background.  Then using all my Tim Holtz goodies and $1 Store finds I went to town decorating.  I used various numbers from the rub ons, metal numbers, wooden and those that came with the Shadow Box.   Be sure to dry fit before gluing!  It took me 4 hours to die cut…

Paper Smooches Passport

It's no secret I love journaling of any kind including the Passport die.  Creating little books everywhere I go and with everything I have.

Xyron and Paper Smooches are teaming up this week and a ton of creativity.  Creating pages is essential to journaling and the Notebook Paper Twostamp is perfect for these inserts.  Check it out...

Roll the cover pieces of the Passport Die through the Creative Station, switching out the 5" refill for the 9" refill.  Work one side at a time to quickly adhere Wild Whispers paper.

Apply inside pattern paper, flip and repeat for the exterior paper.

To make things easier I used my new Tonic Studios Stamp Platform.  With all these pages I needed precision stamping for the notebook lines and teeny letters to create "notes".

I don't want plain pages... that's boring.  I inked and stamped the all the letters with antique linen randomly on each page.  Add a little paper detail.  But just a little ;)

Lets stencil because we can…
