BE MY VALENTINE

WARNING; It's a long post so be sure to read so you know why I made this

I never want flowers or chocolate for Valentines.  I'm not down on Valentines or anything.  It has taken me years to train my husband not to spoil me.  At first he thought I was saying no to flowers when really I wanted them.  For me, I always tell him, "Everyday is Valentines Day" with you.  OK don't leave...I actually mean it.  My husband is extremely affectionate...unlike the woman he married (that would be me).  It's a miracle I am loved so well and it was/ is a long road to believe I am deserving of it...but that's a whole other boring post.

Onto all the fun stuff....

I BUSTED my A$$ to make this project.  I didn't even think about it until 9:00am yesterday morning.  My husband travels every week out of Province and yes even on this day.  I wanted to make something special as he won't be with any of us:(  I have prepared a day of opening gifts with little bits of love sprinkled here and there...Oops just got a toothache!  Here we go...there are 5 in all.

As seen of FACEBOOK

Mini envelope with tag.  I added a cork from a bottle of wine we shared in Vernon and a box of treats to open on the plane.  You know, those sugar candies with the "Kiss Me" sentiments all wrapped in TH paper.

Make the edges of a paper bag decorative.

I used my Spellbinder at the end of the bag and ran it through my CB.  Be sure the end you want cut is "under" the paper.

LOOK, I MADE A MATCH BOOK!

Here I have it open.  Inside there is a $5 Starbucks card.  When my husband gets to the airport in the morning he always has one.  The mini red striped bag you can get HERE.  Including all the sentiments I used.

Midday (these are out of order)  he gets to open another treat, a Skor Bar.  Last week he mentioned he hadn't had one is forever.  Yep, that's right I was listening!

I decorated this mini Kraft Bag, perfect for treats such as a SKOR!

This bag is STUFFED with treats.  This is his mid morning gift to open and share with his staff.  It's a new position he has taken on, so connecting with staff any chance he can get helps.

The bag stamped for the "Staff Treats"

End of day in his hotel he gets to open his last Valentines present.  This bag is full of chocolate Looney's (that's our $1 coin for those that may not know) and fabric rose petals.  I created this tag and with my Versamark Pen I wrote "Looney For You" then embossed.

I made this tag a couple weeks ago and have it attatched to a small dog stuffy and Toblerone Bar.  That's where I wrote all that lovey dovey stuff.

I then stuffed my bag with all the treats...a lot to open in his hotel.

I decorated the bag with my TH goodies, gears, clock and stamps.

All together it is a lot.  But all day he will be reminded he is missed and loved.

My Valentine

I wanted to store all the treats in brown paper bags.  This way I could decorate, make it easy to travel and hide his stuff.  Everything I used  is what I had so in all the gift was $20.  But hours to prepare.  I had no clue how it would all end up.  Thanks for stopping in and sorry for all the photo's.

WISHING YOU A HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Grinch

I am so excited to share this Tutorial with you!  This is a tutorial on how to "draw" an image to scale!  How to take a small image and make it life size using a grid pattern.  I'm sure if you are on Pinterest like I am you've seen The Grinch stealing Christmas lights.  I looked for a tutorial on how to make my own but I couldn't find one.  Not to say someone hasn't created a tutorial.  So, I decided to create my own.  With the help of my husband who created the Grid pattern for me to make these characters come to life.  Much like he did for my daughter's Union Jack Headboard.  Keep in mind, this is NOT A COPY of The Grinch.  Before you consider purchasing the class...you will have to DRAW him yourself.  In this class you'll be shown how to grid a print out and grid your plywood so you can "DRAW BY NUMBER" if you will.  Even if you can't draw... you can draw the lines in each grid connecting them to the next grid.  I can draw but not s…

Snow Scene Cloche

Sometimes it starts with an idea... like silver rich brush bottle trees.  OH YA IT DOES...
Do you remember the ghostly cloche... well I am repurposing the cloche for Christmas.  Why buy more when I can use it again by simply creating a removable base.

There's the empty cloche and a new cut out base.  Gather a bunch of trees and ink up some glittery paper for die cutting.

More inking and die cutting the Snowman Scene snowman then assemble this adorable snow stopping snowman.  I had some left over gold deers from last year so I snapped them up for a little added gold.

Here's the inspiration... this brushed pewter brush bottle trees.  Once dry brush some distress collage medium coating the trees and coat in distress glitter.

They look like flocked Canadian trees.  Too add more gold I inked up an adornment star with alcohol ink topped to the tree.

Mini Holiday Green cut and the little berry's in more gold.  I rolled up woodgrain paper to look like wee logs.  Then wrapped the b…

New Release- Stamp and Photo Storage

All month the Inspiration Team for Eileen Hull is thrilled to be showing off the her newest Book Club Collection.  Here's my little glimpse at the Stamp and Photo Storagedie.  There is nothing this decent size die can't do... or hold!  In this case Letter's to Santa.  I even combined the Trinket Box & Frame to frame out Santa.

I stamped the Woodland Winter Santa designed by yours truly onto watercolor paper and used my Scribble sticks to add a little color.
I cut a piece of clear packaging and ran it through my little Xyron Disposable Sticker Makerto create a cover for my Santa.  Perfection!

I colored up the Floral Arch and Words arch to attach to the bottom and top and attached.  I used some Distress Woodgrain Cardstock to wrap my Stamp and Photo Storage. I cut Super StockCardstock to fit inside.  Inking and stamping like crazy all tied off with some postal twine.  The Correspondence Stamp Set is perfect.

I mounted the Trinket Box & Frame to the Stamp and Storage…
