Altered Corkboard Spring Tag
As promised the first of my Four Seasons Tags, SPRING!
When I was deciding on my Altered Corkboard project I decided to use the Four Seasons as an inspirational point. This way no matter what time of year I am crafting I can look at my board for lots of ideas, techniques and supplies.
For the Spring tag I just learned about making
Mosaic Butterflies. Of course they needed to show up here. I went for a fresh wet spring like feel with the Umbrella Man die, glue rain drops and metal flower accents.
Spring always has fresh green grass, flowers and butterflies. The grass is left over fake Christmas Tree branches, trimmed and glued. I punched metal flowers using oven liner, then inked with alcohol inks and finished off with colourful brads. A crystal blue butterfly, a frog and a Stella Beer cap...summer is coming afterall.
For Umbrella Mans umbrella I added some dimension using honeycomb paper. Third times the charm cutting it out. I'm new to Honeycomb Paper, but the learning curve was quick. I learned I needed to cut half of the umbrella and not all of it. That way when you open it it honeycombs open. I made raindrops with my hot glue and attached them to hang off as if they are dripping.
I topped the umbrella with a the TH crown, embossed gold and topped with some pearl embellishments. They were white so I coloured with my alcohol ink.
The house is embossed with the TH brick, inked with Painted Peel and then sanded for a weathered look. More flowers and water dips were added.
Come Back tomorrow for the Summer Tag.
This is fabulous!!! Thanks for sharing :)
