Creepy Crawly and Hanging Things

I have always wanted a Halloween Tree... a BIG one.  But I really don't want to store a big tree and all that goes with it.  I found this wiry 2ft tree that's easy to store and the decorations took no time at all to make.

I cut a bunch of my creepy movers and shapers with mat board.  Collected my distress spray stains and distress glitters ready to add creepy Halloween colour!  I wrapped a Twisted Edge cut around the base.

To hang each decoration I punched a small hole into each die cut then sprayed each one with distress spray stains.  Onto the Candy Corn Tree!

Mask off each layer to be sprayed with packing tape.  See my quick Instagram video below.  The tree came with this cat and a tombstone.  So you guessed it, I covered them up.

I cut the Headstone, inked it up and distressed it.  Then I added a bunch of creepy mini holly and DEAD from Alphanumeric Marquee.

Glittery pumpkins, bats and cats!

I attached the Headstone to the cat that was at the base.

The mini owl was attached to the little tombstone along with some more mini holly!

The Candy Corn Trees.

They add a pop of colour and look awesome as a back layer.

I love all the glitter die cuts!

I wrapped the tree with some mini Halloween LED lights.  These are battery operated and omit no heat.  Now, if I could just keep the curious kitty's from chomping on them!

  3. What a fantastic Candy Corn Tree (though it also reminds me of a hat from Hogwarts too!) I adore the embellishments and love that it lights up. Thank you for joining us at A Vintage Journey xx
