Scrap your Summer

Join me on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Blog for a Scrapbook Layout...?  Oh yeah... I went all scrappy for this post.  I am sharing my NEW about to release TINBIT TRAVELS Collection with Wild Whisper!    Swing by the    Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Blog  for a full tutorial!   PIN IT   EAT. SLEEP. CRAFT. {repeat}

Love is Simple

When designing for the magazine we always work ahead.  The key is to remember 5 months later is too blog my projects I design.  You can find this simple card inspired by Mark Twain in the latest issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine

I literally had no clue how to approach this one.  So I accepted the challenge. I can always make magic with my Sizzix dies, Ranger stuff and papers!

Using my Hearts stencil and the YUMMY Candied Apple I went to town on the Woodgrain cardstock.  I love how a little bit of water bleeds these hearts.

To create the words I mixed it up with my dies, stamps and Chit Chat words.   Add more distress inks and start the layering.

Love can be this simple.

The texture from the woodgrain cardstock is an added layer of texture.

I love using my supplies in different ways to create the phrase.

Distressed Core paper and added hardware finishes off this card.

Check out the latest issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.  Check out the Submissions and get published too.  For my US peeps, you can find Creative Scrapbooker at Barnes and Noble and Jo-Ann's.

Dies Used

Check out the classes at Carnival including 2 of mine for the Calgary  event.

Our CSM Family recently lost the very talented Christy Riopel.  Christy was an amazing artist and contributor to the magazine always creating magic with her mixed media skills.

I met Christy a few years ago when I took her class on Mixed Media... not knowing what the heck a Gelato Pen was much less how to use them.  From then on we stayed connected.  It was because of Christy I now design for the magazine and teach at Carnival.  She believed in my ability enough to recommend me.  I was beyond shocked and honored.  I have worked hard to live up to that recommendation to not let her down.

Christy leaves behind her 3 beautiful girls, a husband who adored her and a large creative community.  Creative Scrapbook Magazine has starting a Art Scholarship for the Boys and Girls Club of Calgary in Christy's name.  Click the link and keep the paint brush strokes flowing.

  2. I too, am so very sorry for the loss of your friend Nicole, she must have been very special to you....

    You do create magic every time you create and this is no exception. I love the woodgrain textured cardstock and the sentiments you used are brilliant - I especially like the one on the tag. Anne xx
