Will Travel

Before I left for Europe in February I wanted a couple of Leather Luggage Tag's for our Leather Travel bags.  I looked to purchase some and at $50 each I decided I would make some.  After all I have Eileen Hull Luggage Tag.

I printed out our info and cut it to size.  I cut the tag with mat board then sprayed with ground espresso distress spray stain.  I then cut real leather (not the leather paper) using the die.

Once glued I used my distress marker ground espresso for the creased edges.

A little ink edging then I glued my info card down then cut a piece of acetate to protect the paper.  Glue it closed.  To create a worn tag I sanded the edges of the leather.

I cut a strip of leather to connect it to the metal clip.  Then I connected the privacy piece of leather to the front.  By adding a small line of glue to the edge I was able to glue it so I could open the flap.

A perfect fit for my leather bags.

The sanding of the leather is a perfect fit for my Saddleback Leather Co. bags.

Put to the test... My leather tags never left our bags.  Here it is in Tuscany at a Villa we stayed in and our visitor.

Looking a little beat up in Venice Italy.

These tags and bags traveled from one side of the world to the other in planes.  Then over 3200KM in the car through Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.  Thrown in and out of the car and schlepped in and out of hotels and villas.

They made it home in one piece.  I am beyond impressed!
