Celebrate Summer

It's Summer and the Frilly and Funkie Team is celebrating!  Summer for me is all about enjoying the warm summer days, my garden's and afternoon's on my shaded deck.  It's also a lot of birthday's and road trips in my motor home.

Some of you may recall Canada Day (July 1st) is also my husband's birthday.  So this is his birthday card.  I'm keeping this one masculine.

I fussy cut the Perspective Butterfly out and then made a Custom Blend ink pad with rusty hinge, fossilized amber and mustard seed re-inkers.  Have you made one yet...addicting!

I clipped and cut this photo booth then did a little colouring with rusty hinge.

I "just" got my handwritten celebrate thinlits.  EEK...LOVE THEM!  I added a coat of glossy accents.  It's still drying.

I used some Clear Rock Candy Distress to crackle the butterfly.  Can you see the cracked wings?  Pretty...

I'm starting to add more and more ephemera to my projects lately...weird.

Keeping it more masculine I added some hardware and some burlap.

I had so much fun making this and it took no time at all to pull together...about 45 min.  Stop by Frilly and Funkie and share your idea of summer with us HERE.

This will be my last post for Frilly and Funkie...( insert sad face)

I so love everyone and want to thank Linda for having me, Jenny for putting up with me and the team for being so wonderful!  I love being apart of the team and I will miss them!  But, now this means I get to play along with the challenges again!  YAY!

  6. Love what you have done here, Nicole. I really like how you used the vintage cabinet card die cut for your back panel and the touch of burlap makes it wonderfully rustic. The ombre butterfly is gorgeous and you used my favorite photo from the Photo Booth pack. Thank you so much for all your wonderful work for Frilly and Funkie. I am so sorry to see you go and certainly wish you all the best with your new endeavors!

    Hugs,
    Linda
