Take the Journey

Today I'm hanging out with the designers at A Vintage Journey.  I'm sharing a project that inspired me while I was checking out the AVJ Blog!  The talented Brenda Brown shared a Reverse Canvas last month on AVJ and I was instantly inspired!
Here is my version of a reversed frame and it won't be my last.

The jumbo Tattered Pinecone flowers are a perfect choice for a larger scale project.

Ummm...I love the layered dragonfly!  I have yet to cut the Bee.  Maybe I should have used that bug instead.

I love to use watercolor paper for my dies.  Then I inked with some new Tim Holtz spring colours.

I love the new Thinlit Handwritten Love set.  It's always a great finishing touch.

For added texture I used some embossing paste with some stencils.

I love all the stamping and tissue on this reverse canvas.

It's busy but in a good way allowing the bugs to pop with their bold spring colours.

I wanted to thank A Vintage Journey for hosting me and my project inspired by them.  I'm excited to share with project with my stalkers and theirs.

The best part...I'll be teaching this project at an upcoming event for... CANADIAN SCRAPBOOKER MAGAZINE!!!!  Ya, I'm a little excited.  Click the link and check out all the classes, teachers and Market Place!

I'm super excited to share this with you.  Thanks for stopping by!

  8. It's easy to see why you will be teaching for Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine Nicole - CONGRATULATIONS. This is just WONDERFUL. I love dragonflies - even over butterflies - so this is really appealing to me. Love all the wonderful treatments and layers on your canvas. All three of the flying dainties look like they could just lift right up into the air. j.
