Vintage Trailer Stencil Mania

It's another Frilly and Funkie Challenge and it's all about stenciling.  I LOVE my stencils and I have about 8 of the new Tim Holtz Stencils heading to me from The Funkie Junkie Boutique!  I use stencils A LOT!  I love how they create layers with ink, paint and embossing paste.  They are great for mixed media or for just a touch of design.
For my stencil inspiration I decided to stencil the new Travel Trailer from Eileen Hull's new Sizzix Vintage Travel Collection.  I love this Vintage 3D Travel Trailer.  By adding some stenciling you can really have a blast making it your own!

To ink my Bug and Trailer I used DecoArts Media Turquoise spray and fluid acrylic paint.  However, I did link to Mermaid Lagoon as a great bold color to use.  I'm combining all my DT Goodies here...

I left a band of white so I could add some bold stenciling.  Using the Treads Stencil and black soot distress paint I added this layer of texture.

More stenciling on the roof of Travel Trailer with brushed pewter.  I used a piece of canvas to create an awning then added the Treads stencil using pumice stone distress paint.  I attached it to a "rug" using the same movers and shapers rectangle shape and the bubbles stencil.

I cut pieces of bamboo skewer to hold the awning in place.  Tucked on either side of the gear wheels  are these pretty tattered pinecone roses.  The cutout from the hitch creates the perfect vintage flare common in these trailers.

I painted this Beetle Bug with the Decoarts media fluid acrylic paint to match the travel trailer.  Then I attached my Idea-Ology numbered enamel tag.  I cut the smallest movers and shapers circle using mirrored sheet for a retro window accent.

All the different stencils create a visual party and really add to any project!

Listed below are a lot of the fun stuff I used including the Mermaid Lagoon as an alternate.  The new Vintage Travel Trailer will be releasing in May!  So, I wanted to get you thinking about this new die since it will be carried in the store!  YAY!!!!!
