St. Nick

Good Ole' St. Nick
Let's be honest.  I wasn't sure I was a fan of the St. Nick die.  He was on my list but low on it.  That was until Candy did a wee demo on her blog with Jolly Old St. Nick that I officially became a fan.

This is one of this evolving projects that I really wasn't sure of my direction.  Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #15 is Cabinet Cards.  I have never tried these (which is why I love this challenge blog) so I decided to start with the Mini's.  I like small things.

My version of St. Nick in icy blue's.

I used some of my TH Tiles to spell out St. Nick.  I distressed the edges and inked tumbled glass distress ink.

I was inspired by all the DT's Compendium of Curiosities 3 projects.  This tree element was inspired by Candy's awesome Vintage Christmas tree.  I inked it tumbled glass, wrapped in tinsel with a mirrored star on top.

I cut some stacked presents using the smallest.  I inked more tumbled glass paint, distress glitter and ink.  I cut some foil for 1 gift and 1 bow, embossed, inked and distressed.

I love my Old Fashioned Christmas set.  Stamped on Watercolor paper inked with tumbled glass, broken china and faded jeans distress markers.

The stamped edges is inspired by one of my favorite bloggers Yaya Scraps and More.  Last year she stamped a canvas and I always do that now.

A little surprise!  A tag tucked into the cabinet card!  I made it so the tag can hang on my Mom's Christmas tree.  Her tree is decorated with only my tags.  So every year she get's 1...or 5...sometimes 10.

I just got the Thinlits Label's.  AWESOME DIE!!!!  I cut it in half to create a door.  I saw something similar with Aida's awesome Holiday Décor Panel.

I inked a Christmas Word Band with picket fence distress paint.  Then pounded out some brads.  This awesome metal Antique Snowflake is inked in picket fence also and can be found at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

When you open the panel door there's a little surprise.  Another Thinlits Label cut stamped, inked and glittered.

I went with tumbled glass distress glitter for St. Nick's hat.  I tried something new (for me) and used embossing paste for his beard and white elements. I used my trowel to create the texture.

I wanted his beard and other white bits to shine.  So while it was wet I sprinkled some rock candy distress glitter...and it worked!  I inked brushed corduroy around all the white edges to show definition.

This would make a wonderful gift for a gift card.  You could add the gift card to the tag.

I hope you liked this St. Nick and have found some inspiration like I did.  Thank you for always taking the time to look and leave comments.

This round of prizes to be won from the  Compendium of Curiosities 3 challenge is Inspiration Emporium.  And of course some Tim and Mario goodies.
