Index Card Holder

My attempt at making one...

My daughter is taking a collage course and needs to have a holder for her index cards.  She asked if I could make her something...ummmm YA I can!  I've never made one of these before so it's not great and I would make the measurements an extra 1/4" but I think in the end it turned out pretty...OK.

The index cards are your typical 3"x5" cards.  I measured around those measurements adding a 1/4" as I scored the chipboard.  I ever so gently scored the chipboard with my cutter.

I kept the design simple and plain since it's for school.  I picked up some of these little Velcro dots at the $1 store in the sewing section. I thinking I'll add a tiny attacher staple to it so it's more secure.

I cut a Mini Ticket with chipboard, a couple coats of antique linen distress paint and some sanded edges.  I stamped this awesome hand from the Merchantile stamp set.

I added some dividers using manila card stock (or a file) and this tab cut from the tiny tabs die. I cut a small strip of left over manila scrap to fit inside the tab so she can remove it and label.

I stamped each of the card dividers with stamps from Laboratorie, Merchantile and Typography.

With some of the left over manila scraps I cut, scored and fan folded the sides.

I wrapped the chipboard box in some paper stash scraps I had.  I distressed the edges and added some vintage photo distress paint to the grungy edges.

I have these AWESOME teeny tiny letter stamps I just picked up a couple weeks ago from Michaels for $1.50.  They are perfect for tiny tabs, tags and stamping your own titles. I stamped at random so it looks perfectly messy.

I hope it lasts the 6 month course!
