Don't hate me...I've been absent from my blog for 2 1/2 months. I was even getting emails asking if I was OK, am I still crafting..."Hello, anyone home?" Summer is a busy time for my family and this one was no exception. I have also spent the better part of 2 months getting my back to heal from a pulled muscle. Sorry I missed Aug Tag. {sad face}
Here's my take on September- 12 Tags of 2014
This evening marks the first day of Fall and this skull was calling me. I do have the stamps and butterfly frenzy die. But I did a
similar tag back in the spring that reminded me of Tim's September Tag.
The technique remains the same but instead of the butterfly frenzy I used birds in flight. Their wings provide a sharper edge. And... I wanted to break it in!
I love all my rubs! I used the eye chart layering stencil for this technique. To keep it gloomy I used the slate alcohol ink.
I layered the birds in flight cuts and curled the wings.
I mounted on a piece of core paper so I could sand off the tag.
Thanks for checking out my version of this months tag! As always so fun!

On a personal note, here's my kitty Cheyenne! Isn't she stunning in our selfie taken this past spring! Well, last week we had to make that hard decision and put her down. My beautiful girl has been with me my whole adult life and she lived just shy of 19 years. I even had her before I had my kids. We keep waiting for her to emerge from behind the couch or out from a closet and then we remember. Our little family is heartbroken but we cherish the time she gave us.

There you are! Glad to see you back making cool schtuff again.
ReplyDeleteI love your version of this tag! Bats would have been cool, too.
I am so sorry to hear about sweet Cheyenne. Nineteen years is quite along time to have a fuzzy baby. You were both lucky to have had each other for so long. Gentle hugs to you and your family.
The tag is great, I didn't "see" the birds, I automatically thought they were leaves! Scarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry! So sorry you had to let go of your sweet kitty, it is soooo hard to make that decision and we miss them always. Our doggie was 15 years old and it's a year this fall, but I miss him so much. Prayerful hugs sent.
ReplyDeleteLovely tag... sorry about Cheyenne so hard to see them go.. our old boy lived till he was 20 have pictures somewhere of him on my baby bump and with my daughters twin boys.. still miss him.. take care Hugs..

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your beautiful cat, it is always such a difficult decision , but I appreciate you would not wish to see her suffer. We still miss our 21 and 23 year old cats and cannot bear to replace them.... Anne xx
Great minds think alike! We are so on the same wave length with this month's tag. Love love love your background colour, it's so murky and the birds die is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to read about Cheyenne. We lost our 21 year old cat last year and it's just devastating, so I truly feel for you. Adopting 2 kittens from a shelter really helped to fill the void, but they're never replaced or forgotten. Big hugs xxx
Love your take on tim's tag! I had to come over and take a peek at the skull to see the colorful topper!
