Masculine Mayhem; Father's Day

I'm always into making masculine anything.  With Father's Day quickly approaching I was asked to teach a "Masculine" class called Just Guys.

I started with the Mini Trophy and Prize Ribbon and Tarnished Trophies.  I wasn't going to get these dies.  But who's fooling who...I get them all whether or not I want them.  In the end I think up something creative to create with them.

Trophy Antlers

I LOVE this Movers and Shapers Antler.  It may be because I'm a Canadian?  When I was out in BC last month my Mom and I went to Clipper Street Scrapbook Company where I was SOOOO excited to find they had this die!  Love that little craft store!

I cut the antlers with grungepaper.  After inking and grunging I  used my heat gun to get it to bend.  Applying heat to grungepaper curls it, perfect for this die!

Raise your hand if you love the Frameworks dies!  ME, ME, ME!

I cut the Tarnished Trophy on chipboard.  Love how this card pops!

Mini Trophy wins 1st

A simply masculine card, worn and vintage.

What guy doesn't love metal!  Here the mini trophy is cut with a scrap of grungeboard and a scrap of foiled paper.  This adhesive back foiled paper is a fantastic product I am never without.  Turning scraps into something amazing!

I love the wordbands attached with some twine and the tiny attacher.

The ribbon is sanded to a worn weathered ribbon.  I stamped the "1" from the Merchantile stamp set.  Using the Distress Inks Mini black soot to ink this stamp was easy.  Small enough for precision inking.

Man in the Box

The man in the box was my whole inspiration for the set.  I adore 3D crafting and this matchbox die is one of my favorite dies release for 2014.

Again, the Merchantile stamp is used for the gentleman.  I have both sizes of this regal guy.  In the Purveyor set he's bigger.  Of course you need both sizes.  He's stamped onto watercolor paper and tucked in.

I love the chevron frameworks die!  Here I've used more scraps of paper, foil paper and cork.

The paper, colours and overall beat up look of this card is total guy!

I love making masculine cards.  I find it easier then creating with flowers!  I hope you find some inspiration here as you get ready to craft for Father's Day!

If you live in the Calgary area and want to take this class with me click HERE for details.

Thanks for stopping by and leavin some lovin!  Now that I'm back from Sizzix I have time again for crafting, blogging and pinning!  WOOHOO!
