Creative Chemistry 102- DAY TWO

I'm a GRADUATE!

It's official, I'm done my CC102 classes.

I know I'm slow.  But I had to get my Halloween crafting done.  And I had classes to prep!  AND...I made 2 sets of these!  If you missed my CC102 Day 1 class post click HERE.

Oh stencils how I have fallen in love with you!  These bad boys can do just about anything!  This is all about stencils and yes...I own them ALL!  I won't bore you with each tag one at a time.  I just wanted to show you what can happen when you stencil!

WOW, talk about mixed media using stencils.  With a bevy of colour and most of the stencils layered the 1st tag packs a punch.  The next 2...are EMBOSSED!  That's right you can emboss these stencils too!  If I didn't already love them I do now!

Stencils get inky with distress markers.  Then look closely, you can stamp through them!  COOL!  And lastly, the honeycomb is all textured and one of my favourite!  Too bad it's hard to tell.
On the left you can use stain on your stencil then stamp it to the tag!  How cool!  The last is using and stencils distress paint.  Look how awesome that is!  Huge pop of colour!

Look at all the possibilities stencils have. I love using my stuff in as many ways as I can.  And all these techniques show just what can be done!

Thanks for looking and I'm sure you look at these in a whole new light!  More to come:)

Journaling Tuck Spots and Pockets

It is official... I am addicted to Journaling.  This is an inspiration post... why?  I may have become lost in my creativity... it happens.
Scroll through the the photos for ideas.  I have been inspired by my fellow journalers too.
I kept the cover of Eileen Hull's new Journalsimple with a flipped cabinet card and some crackle paste stenciling.

Inside there are pages of Memoranda paper and Idea-Ology from Scrap ShotzMarch Scrapbook Kit.

A mini book stuffed in a pocket too.

Nicole Wright Designs Fallen Blossomis used on the tag, stamped and watercolored with worn lipstick oxide ink.

I used pages from my 115 year old art journal to create another mini.  Stamping and watercoloring throughout each page with Garden Flower and my stamp set Fallen Blossom.

Tuck spots and pockets for stuffing notes.

The March Kit with the new Memoranda paper is perfect on it's own.  But I still cut it up and collaged with it.

I fussy cut a found relative since I am still trying to get my hands on …

Mixed Media Canvas w/ Baked Texture

What's new?  Well I am stretching my mixed media skills or lack thereof so playing with paints the Baked Texture embossing powders on canvas is really new to me.  Keep in mind I am playing and learning as I go.

There is a lot of laying and overlapping of powders.

Even a little stamping and embossing.

Quotes get inked and embossed too.

Even theGear Corners from Southern Ridge are layered.

The canvas background is dylusions paints, stamping and a little fun making rings with various lids and an eraser.

Grungy too.

I am digging this new creative direction I am exploring.  Just having fun and sharing as I go... good or not it's all about experimenting.

Art Journaling with Baked Texture

I recently got a Dylusions Journal to play and experiment with.  I am learning to play with Dylusions paints and at this point I'm I am loving it.
Check out my second pages where I throw in the new Seth ApterBaked Texture embossing powders.

See... yummy right!
I stamped my stamps Fallen Blossom and Upstream stamps and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then add the paint. Blend the colours to create an underwater look then in comes the yummy, cake batter smelling Dirty Sand embossing powder. Add some black marble paint on the edges and then repeat the same on the top with Deep Sea ep.  To create a wispy effect I gently used a paint brush to brush off some powder. Heat and yum!  Load up the bubbles stencil with some fresh lime paint with a sponge. Spray and layer onto the pages.  Trying paint on stamps too and hey it works! Stamp, add some Big Talk stickers, a little smudging and you're creating layers to a page.  BAM!  I cut the garden greens, added more paint and coate…
