Ringmaster Canvas

Thank you Canada Post!!!  On the day Calgary was flooding my new Ringmaster Blueprint stamps were delivered.  Naturally prior to the flood I had every intention to get right to crafting.  However, given the days events I wasn't interested in crafting.  Sunday afternoon as the waters were receeding I got to working making this canvas for my media room.  And a much needed break from the news and worrying!  My decor fits this set perfectly with my early 1900's vintage movie canvas paintings and big metal movie reels.

I grabbed this 8x10 canvas w/easel at the dollar store for $3.

I stained the easel with wood stain to match my decor.

I stamped Archival Black onto watercolor paper.

I cut 2 1/2" strips of distress paper for the film strip die.  TIP; pre-sand the strips prior to cutting to avoid tearing.
I inked the #8 tags with walnut, vintage photo, tea dye and antique linen.
I used some metallic distress stains to add a little shimmer.
Drag through and make a mess.

Spritz the tag so the metallic stain with spread.

Then dry your tag.  See the shimmer:)

Using the smae stamps again stamp the tag with archival black.

Tear your watercolour pieces where you want to expose some of the image stamped on the tag.  I used fire brick, black soot and tea dye to colour the images.
Glue down your watercolour image to line up with the stamp on the tag. Then stamp your favourite stamp on the bottom of the tag.

Glue your letters together.  Off set them to create a shadow.  I used the WANTED strip die.

I like to dry fit all my pieces before I glue.  Love the mini film strip for a boarder.  I also attached a pieces opf film strip ribbon to each tag.

I love this ticket!
I stamped from the Travel Label set this Monte Carlo stamp.  What a perfect match for the roulette;)
I taped off the Coney Island portion of this Remnent set.  This way I get the image I want stamped and not the whole thing.

I applied Glossy Accents to my "ENJOY THE SHOW".  It's a necessary pop with my dark media room.

I adore how this turned out.  It's a perfect match to myt Vintage Media Room!
How this canvas came to be:) I needed some decor for my table.  My husband building the side table for my media room with reclaimed 100+ barn wood and iron pipping.

The bottom of my table isin place waiting for the top!

Once everything was in place I went to work sanding just a little.  The wood is wonderfully old!  But I did want to minimize slivers.

Two years ago when my husband and I planned this feature wall we knew we wanted a table under our tiled boxes.  We built the wall, tiled the boxes and 2 year later the table is here:)

Now to add some personal touches...like my canvas.
It will take time to add our personal touches.  Still trying to decide where the wine bottles will go;) But I'm very happy with the canvas, table and the small distraction from the reality of the flooding going on around me.

If you would like to learn more about the Alberta Flood, the affected communituies or to donate please click HERE.  It is heartbreaking but our whole city is pitching in to start cleaning up.  And we have all been donating what we can.

Video I took below my house.  The river is 3x the size it should be.

Thanks:)
