Welcome to the All Things Altered Fall/ Halloween Blog Hop.
Are just arriving on my blog and want to start at the beginning? Click HERE to start, but don't worry you'll come right back since I'm next.
If only I could see your face right now, scrolling, puzzled looks, scratching your head wondering WHERE'S THE HALLOWEEN PROJECT???? I know shocking. Nope, I'm doing FALL! I have a new basement we are just finishing and I wanted something on my new mantle. Fall is my favorite time of year so I created these altered wood letters so I could enjoy it every year!
I happen to have some Stampin Up Fall paper left, perfect for this project.
I used various Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers dies to layer along each letter. The little acorns my kids collected this summer when we visited Mesa Verde.
I used the TH Twigs Border die, painted it brown and crackled. This grunge twig is the base of each letter.
Oh yes, the $1 Store is where I picked up berries, silk leave and metal leaves.
I also used my TH Strip Die Autumn Gatherings. There are so many leaves on that die!
The little pine cone we collected on a hike in the summer. My kids had pockets full of mini pine cones. They had so much fun!
I modge podged the paper to the letters, cut, sanded and inked the edges. Then modge podge again the seal it all.
Those vines from the $1 Store are great. Just snip and hot glue!
Oh I love this TH Mini Jalopy Movers and Shapers die. Cut on grunge, painted brown and crackled it nestles perfectly in the fall foliage!
When it's up all the goodies are along the bottom.
BONUS PROJECT!
I picked up a Hurricane Glass, $14, clipped some left over leaves from the $1 Store vines and tied it off with a piece of twine. The big pine cones my boys collected for me. A very inexpensive Fall Decor project.
I'm still working on decorating our new fireplace but for now the FALL letters along with some $1 Store vines fill my mantle.

ReplyDeleteDear Nicole, I am new to your blog via this hop and I am so thrilled to be here! I love Halloween, but I love autumn more and I love altering letters like you have here! My first set were the letters spelling my daughter's name for her 18th birthday; I was so afraid it would be "queer, mom," or not cool, even embarrassing. To my delight and surprise, she loved them, has taken them everywhere with her, including her first solo apartment, AND her friends have asked me to make them sets! So I really truly love your FALL. Next project!
