For this 12 Tags of 2014 I went a little off course combing elements of other challenges in one project. I love when I get to add these elements making it a more challenging outcome for me. It's a great time of year to craft for me so I like making the most of it.
This month I'm going 3D!
I love my 3D Square Box die by Eileen Hull Designs. So many options!
I had this idea to combine the big box 3D die and my sized ovals. Using these Found Relatives Occasions cards and tinting. I coloured, taped, soaked the cards in water and peeled to reveal the now transparent image.
I love my Skeleton and breaking him to repose him just like this.
Another tint, although I used lighter distress colours so it's harder to see. I used the Skull Rubs for the mans head. Ewh!
I followed the same watercolor technique with glossy accents Tim showed.
I also did the whole box with the Halloween Stencil and texture paste! I inked the box with distress paint first. Once the texture paste was dry I went over it with distress ink. I made my own mask for the spider and spritz black soot with the spritzer.
I hot glued the letters together then curled the skeletons hands like he's holding his sign. I added then pounded the metal brads. I spritzed them too!
I water colored the Layered Leaf die and crackled with crackle paint.
Layering the pieces really adds to the 3D effect. I used scrap chipboard folded like little easels on the pumpkin and poison bottle. Doing this allows a sturdy structure for my skeleton to take a seat.
This image was the inspiration for the whole project. I love these boys holding their Jack O' Lanterns. Another glossy pumpkin is layered in front.
I water colored the crow from Mini Blueprints #5 then attached him to the skeleton's shoulder.
Here's why I taped the found relatives cards. Adding a battery tea light through the transparent images they become a lantern of sorts. When I removed the image from the card some of it peeled off. This creates just the Vintage look I was hoping for.
Thanks for being brave enough to come look! I would have to say out of all things Halloween, pumpkins are my favorite. I had a ton of fun making this 3D Square Box!
