Sweet 16 Invites, Badges and Goody Bags

Where does the time go!  My daughter is  celebrating her 16th Birthday today.  Since she is a summer baby birthdays with her friends are rare.  Either they are on vacation or we have been.  This year we promised to stay home so she could have her Sweet 16 with her friends.

My Daughter is one of the coolest people I know.  She is an avid reader, she is her own person and proud to be and she ADORES The Beatles.  I had to create everything for her special day with The Beatles in mind.

I found at the $1 Store these cool badges that you can make.  I downloaded the Beatles font, Boogle and made all the Beatles stuff with this font.

Paul is her favorite Beatle so this was her badge.  At the party (Laser Tag) all the party goers put on these badges.  Each of her friends got the Beatle most like them.

The Invitations

I made these invitations like a Backstage Pass.  I wanted the invitations to be perfect for a teen.

All these were simply created in WORD using again the Boogle Font.

On the back of the pass I printed off the important info.  I blurred the location of the party for my blog.

The Goody Bags

These were so fun to make.  I hot the $1 Store with Teen Girls in mind!

Each bag is filled with emery boards, nail polish remover, nail polish, Skittles (my daughters favorite candy) and the candy necklaces.

I attached the badges to the bags.

Using the new Tim Holtz die tag #5 I printed off this Beatles image then ran it through the die.  I stamped "They say it's your Birthday" at the bottom using Scrappy Moms Stamps Hooray for Birthdays.  It's a perfect fit!

A very Happy Sweet 16 to my beautiful girl Mercedes!  It's an honor to watch her mature and grown into a beautiful person.

Please feel free to wish her a Happy Sweet 16.  I know it would make her day!  I'm so proud if her.

Create a Fun House with Sizzix

So I got this idea for a fun house in the middle of the night.  Because that always makes sense!
I am celebrating the holidays with the Eileen Hull Inspiration Team.  And yes, Halloween to me is a holiday!  Here's how it went down... My cat Flurry wanted to hang out for a some cuddles and purring.  Of course it was 3:30AM.  That's when I got this idea... a Fun House with the Canister(shhhh... it's been retired) die.

I cut mat board for the canister and spritzed with Black Soot.  Covered with Halloween Paper and then snapped my Skeleton.

Wrap up the lights and stuff to the bottom!
"Tickets Please"

A few snaps and I can pose my guy.  Check out the wall paper and photo's behind him.

A spider or 2...

Using the Alphanumeric Marquee for the glitter paper works!

Ephemera... why not

A nicely hidden battery pack for the lights.

Ghostly Cloche

Haunting is my top priority!

I have been super busy lately and my crafty space has been emptied out this weekend to make room for a new floor in my basement.  It was nice to just create something for no reason other than I love Halloween. before everything was boxed up.  My daughter and I were in IKEA a few weeks ago and she grabbed the Cloche saying I had to make something cool with it.  On it...

Check it out...

I cut a removable base so I can reuse the Cloche for other seasons.  This made it easy to build a spooky little scene.

It came with a brassy base so a little added slate alcohol ink gives it more of a rustic look instead of shiny brass.
I have a little bin full of body parts.

I have this littler glass knob...pull?  Anyway I attached it to the top of the glass dome.
A little candy corn tree, pumpkins and a spider.

I used the stringy bits left by my trust hot glue gun for a spider web covering all the creepy layers.
I bent my word band to fit the base and tied off with some …

Grinch

I am so excited to share this Tutorial with you!  This is a tutorial on how to "draw" an image to scale!  How to take a small image and make it life size using a grid pattern.  I'm sure if you are on Pinterest like I am you've seen The Grinch stealing Christmas lights.  I looked for a tutorial on how to make my own but I couldn't find one.  Not to say someone hasn't created a tutorial.  So, I decided to create my own.  With the help of my husband who created the Grid pattern for me to make these characters come to life.  Much like he did for my daughter's Union Jack Headboard.  Keep in mind, this is NOT A COPY of The Grinch.  Before you consider purchasing the class...you will have to DRAW him yourself.  In this class you'll be shown how to grid a print out and grid your plywood so you can "DRAW BY NUMBER" if you will.  Even if you can't draw... you can draw the lines in each grid connecting them to the next grid.  I can draw but not s…
