Welcome to the All Things Altered Blog Hop
(oh and this is post #500 for CNS)
{Maybe Tim will notice my little blog and project and he will add me to his Blog List? Could you imagine!}
You should know before checking out my Altered Cork Board, I started learning about the techniques, products and inks 5 months ago.
You should be just arriving from
Pinky's Blog and her fabulous project! If you are just arriving you'll want to start with our hostess
Pam! I have a BIG project! I ended up changing what I was planning on doing a couple of weeks ago so I really had to push it to get my project done. I will be featuring the tags I worked on in more detail over the coming week. So you can see them in more detail.
For my project I altered an old cork board. This board is truely beat up! What do you need to make one of these...well some of these goodies might help. I did a lot of borrowing, using what I had, $1 Store shopping and coupon purchasing.
I wanted to line my cork board with cork. I went to my local Wine Kit store and picked up the more pricy corks, 30 for $5.95. I then cut them in half. WOW upper body workout!
I started brainstorming idea's for my board. I want a spot where I can display my latest projects, what I want to work on and what inspires me.
My Inspirational Tags {The four seasons}
With these tags I went all out trying new things and stretching my creativity. I kept a common theme with the Rickety House and fence. Each tag has season goodies tucked and around the whole tag.
My Spring Tag
My inspiration was Umberlla Man die. I made rain drops, metal flowers, mosic butterflies and used the bottle cap my husband saved for me.

My summer tag.
I used metal seashell accents that I coloured, cheesecloth as netting and a coke bottle cap! The balloons are honeycomb paper and pipecleaner bows to keep the retro feel. I even added sand paper for sand.
My Fall/ Halloween Tag
If you know my blog you know I was in heaven making this tag. Yes, heavy on the spooky side but really fall is all about Halloween for me. So it's no surprise I went haunted.
My Winter Tag
The
12 Tags of Christmas 2011 Tags were my first ever TH Tag I created. So, just coming off those I found this tag was easier than the others. Here you'll see mini lights, wreaths, fresh cotton snow, green garland and even the coke a cola cap, minus the polar bear.
Ohhhh I like these signs. I used black paint on the wrought iron topper, then distressed and used Rock Candy. For the sign I embossed, stained and distressed by sanding the edges. I cut the letters to create the words, "INSPIRE" and "CREATE".
Little post it notes on altered chipboard coasters. Perfect to write notes for stuff I need and what I have to do. Some pattern paper and large brads...these were made in 5 minutes!
Below my Inspire sign I attached a clip. This is for projects I want to work on.
On the Create side I can collect swatch ideas for projects coming up.
Along the top, my seasonal tag Winter is popped in the corner along with tags I've made and may be working on. Just clip them up out of the way.
Seasonal Tag Spring in the opposite corner along with my March Tag.
An old ruler adds a great vintage feel and helps break up the board. I stole this ruler from my husbands tool box.
I saved this "skull" brooch from my halloween costume! Tied with a peice of tulle and clipped on to seperate my tags.
I found this large key at Michaels for $0.50 and clipped along the top.
My Fall/ Halloween tag is attached to my altered clipboard.
A little modge podge, pattern paper and a few creepy accents pulls this clipboard together.
Pulled all together my board is packed with inspiration all year long. There are finished projects, ones on the go and tons of techniques to inspire me.
I hung my board up over my desk. Below my Tags of Christmas 2011...
And above my buttons, metal trinkets and wooden boxes of Distress inks/
blocked sponges.
Be sure to check back to my blog this week starting Monday. I will be posting ALL the tags and the altered clipboard on their own in more detail, more photo's and how I got there! There's just too much detail on each tag and board to show you here
Here's the hop list incase you need it.
