What's New Wednesday

Welcome to What's New Wednesday

This weeks Guest Designer is Jennifer from Crafty Card Gallery

This is Jennifer from Crafty Card Gallery www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com. I'm honored to be a guest designer for Canadian Nickel Scrapn! This is a great blog, and this is one of the first blogs I started following when I was first blogging... I have to say, she has the most phenomenal coloring I've ever seen. So there was no way I was going to do a card with coloring, because I didn't want to disappoint you all.... :) If you've never visited my blog, be sure to stop by & stay hi... I've got some phenomenal guest designers right now...

I'm a big fan of leaves, not sure why, but I find them very pretty... I don't know about you but I have managed to collect a lot of cool stuff in my stash, but I haven't used it. I tend to hoard it and never use it. But I've been trying to use things... In cleaning out my room, I found some things I'd forgotten about & got to use on this card...(but now I won't be able to give it away!)

So here is my card:

The front.  I love the fall colors in the sticker

 closeup of letters & stone

 inside

I had the letters from an old kit, but they were silver.  I used Alcohol inks to make them go with the paper.  I used my Copics on the leaf stone (something else from my stash) and some metallic inks.  The paper is the paper company autumn harves floral brocade, and the stripe paper is paper company too (I believe). The leaf sticker is Real Life by pebbles inc, and the inside is from my new Close to My Heart stamps set.  The ribbon was a free gift with an order..

Thanks for checking out this weeks Guest Designer.  Leave some love and check out her blog:)

What's New Wednesday

Welcome to What's New Wednesday

This weeks What's New Wednesday Guest Designer is Madison from Funky Cards

Today I am a guest designer for Nicole on her blog Canadian Nickel Scrap'n. Thank you Nicole for this great opportunity! You are such a talented designer!! Your blog ROCKS!!

Who is Madison? I am a 16 year old girl who stumbled into card making when I was looking for a way to earn money to pay for my club volleyball tuition. Besides paper crafting and volleyball, I like spending time with my family and friends, sewing, painting, and just being creative.  My Blog, Funky Cards!

What am I up to? I am about to start my Junior year of high school. I will be playing varsity volleyball as a left-handed setter:) When I'm not in school I can either be found at Michael's where I work part-time or in my craft room working on projects for my design teams:) I am a member of the Cooking With Cricut and the My Cricut Craft Room Design Teams.

What's new and exciting? I started the "I Feel the Love Project," spreading love one card at a time. Each month we send cards to someone who is experiencing a difficult time in life. The response as been amazing. If you are interested sending a card to someone who could use some joy in their life, please click on my link:) It really makes YOU feel good too to help someone else:)

My project was designed and created for Holly and Aaron McRae. They are the parents of Kate McRae, this month's recipient of the "I Feel the Love Project" cards.

(click on card to enlarge)

This is a simple card of encouragement I created using the Kate's ABC's Cricut cartridge and a beautiful sentiment from the Pink By Design "Sympathy" stamp set. If you find a pretty piece of background paper, you don't need to add much to it to make a special card. I added a few embellishments like the small brads and stitching on the mushrooms and the tiny gems on the butterfly.

So what do you think? I like how this card turned out:) Feel free to stop bt my blog, Funky Cards.  Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Family Vacation

Where have I been?

Yep I'm on vacation and so is my Blog!  Just wanted to pop in and say HI!  My family and I are touring the west in our motorhome!  We've been to Moab Utah where we were supposed to check out Arches.  Instead we went off roading in this awesome Jeep Rubicon.  It's a little nicer than mine:)  If you're there check out DANMICK.COM for hours of red rock crawlin fun!

We then went to Las Vegas where we spent 3 days walking the casino's to stay out of the 42C heat!  We went to see 2 Vegas shows, Beatles Love and Blue Man Group!

Then it was off to Disneyland for 4 days of Disney fun!  We rode all the rides and managed to stay in the park for 12-15 hours each day!  I bought all the Nightmare Before Christmas stuff I could get my hands on...watch, clothes, purse, blanket...I went nuts!

Just arrived into Yosemite and we will be touring the National Park for the next 3 days!  Can't wait!!!!  After 7 days in the city I am ready for nature!  Watch for a What's New Wednesday post and a blog hop post this week!  Thanks for being patient!

And thanks for missing me...if you've been missing me:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MERCEDES

Ahhh...my baby girl is 15 today!

To celebrate her and her FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME...we are in Las Vegas heading to Beatles LOVE!  What a great birthday!  I have raised my kids no doubt to love Halloween and Jack!

My daughter is the joy of my life even though she thinks I'm un-cool.  She is funny and we laugh together.  She's a dork and embrasses that part of her.  She is so talented, artistic, musical and a great reader!  Even though she doesn't believe me most of the time I think she is the most beautiful young woman.  I am proud to watch her grow up even though it hurts.  She's not my little girl anymore but she's growing into her own special person.  I think she's cool even if she thinks I'm not.

Mercedes looks at EVERY card I make.  So this one I made a secret!  The Sketch is "Very Sketchy" over at Smeared and Smudged

The sentiment is awesome, no!  This sentiment can be purchased over at Graphicat Designs to help raise money for a great cause!  Please click HERE to learn more.  You can also click HERE to check out Kellie's journey to cutting off all her hair.  Please donate even $1 to help raise money to Princess Charolette Alopecia Foundation.

And FINALLY... Betty Skellington, the star of the card.  OHHHH HOW CUTE!  For Betty Skellington I used the spotlight technique (if that's what it's called) and coloured only in the circle.  Then filled it with Diamond Glaze.

You want her????  Here's what Betty had to say;

Here's a special little sneaky peeky: Skellington Betty, along with a few more Betty's will be showing up here and there for a special little Betty line. More information will follow soon.

To not miss a thing click HERE to Like Simply Betty on Facebook.  If you want to check follow what the Design Team does click HERE for all the new releases and news!  And if you want to shop till your MOUSE drops and check out all the funky stamps by clicking HERE.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY MERCEDES

Please help me make her day special and leave a wee birthday wish.  It really makes their day:)

Back to School Blog Hop

BACK TO SCHOOL BLOG HOP

Send your kids out of the room so they don't see and start screaming!  Oh wait...that's what my kids would do.  Welcome to the Scrappy Moms Stamps Back to School Blog hop with the new School Days set.  I am away somewhere in UTAH right now so I hope you're having fun hopping along.  You should be arriving from Joanna's Blog.

A shear moment of panic.  I got the email on the hop (forgetting it was coming) and I'm about to leave on vacation with no time to make anything.  Ohhhh then I remembered...I HAVE A PROJECT!  I forgot I made this back in June for my sons teacher.  YAY!!!!  I forgot I had to wait until now to post it.  It's a clear paint pail I got from Michaels then filled it with pencils, stickers, clips and all things teachers need!  I decorated with apples cut from Plantin .  Then I cut a bookmark out for the Teachers Summer Reading!

For this projects I used "Thank you for being a Great Teacher" from the Scrappy Moms Stamps School Days set.

Here's the bookmark with an apple cut from the Preserves cartridge.  Attached is a "#1 Teacher" apple clip.

Want to be entered into the Big Giveaway?

All you have to do is leave me a comment.  Thats it!  If you follow my blog please do so because you like what you see and not for the giveaway.  I get a big lump in my throat when my Stalker Peeps leave.  I will pick 1 comment left here and that comment will be entered into the main giveaway!  There, that was easy!

Now you're ready to head over to Trish's Blog.  Thanks for stopping by, leave me a comment and here's a Hall Pass!

What's New Wednesday

Welcome to What's New Wednesday!

This week's Guest Designer is Michelle over at Maybe Creative.

I am so excited yet very nervous about being the guest blogger for this week. I get lots of inspiration from Nicole, some of my punch purchases are because of her. My name is Michelle but most people know me as Chelle. I have two blogs, one for my photography & scrapbooks for others business (www.photoartbychelle.blogspot.com) and the other is for my cards and other crafty projects www.maybecreative.blogspot.com Maybe Creative has been around a lot longer and I post to that one a lot more.

I love to follow sketches for my cards and in the past year (like starting in October) I have began using copics. I think I am getting better and if you look through my blog and don not think so, please do not tell me.

Currently I am on the design team for Scraptures a Canadian kit club. The owner is a good friend of mine (leaves right around the corner) and she has some great Scrapbook and Card kits. I am always excited to see the kits, even if I have helped pick out the papers, just getting them into my hands makes my day.

This project uses the August Scraptures Kit and a sketch (which will be listed on my blog). I little trick I learned at CKC this year is to NOT put a sentiment on the front, that way you can add it later. This card could be a miss you card, birthday card or just HI...depends on my needs when I use it.

Thanks for the opportunity to be the guest blogger this week. I hope you will stop by my blog (Maybe Creative) and become a follower as I have a small blog candy to give away.

Leave some love for this weeks Guest Designer:)
