To Die For...HO HO HO

There I go colouring stamps and adding Cricut cuts...good thing it's a challenge over at Simply Betty Challenges!

Jingle, Jingle and Hot Cocoa for Reindeer Tilly.  This weeks challenge is to use your Cricut or any die cutter you have.  I coloured Tilly in non traditional pinks and greens and created the card to match.  For my cut I used my Winter Frolic cartridge and cut this Christmas Tree out at 3 1/2".  Not happy I was humming Christmas tunes!  I added these light strands I had left over from last year and yes...even a gum wrapper!

The sentiment is NEW from Scrappy Moms Stamps from the Quirky Quotes set.  Don't think your non holiday sets won't work.  You never know!

What's New Wednesday

Welcome to What's New Wednesday.

This weeks special Guest Designer is Suzi from The Manic World of Mrs. Weyremaster.

Who is....Mrs Weyremaster? My real name is Suzanne McKenzie, my friends and family call me Suzi. I've always loved arts and crafts, I love to colour stuff!!  My Pseudonym is based on a character from the Dragon of Pern Books; My hubby is a fan of them, and used to call himself Weyremaster online, so when i needed a log in name for a craft forum, I decided I'd be Mrs Weyremaster, and it's kinda stuck .

What am I upto? I no longer work due to ill health (Fibromyalgia, etc) so am lucky enough to have lots of time to craft. I do Design Team work for three wonderful companies, Simply Betty Stamps, The Stamping Boutique and The Pixie Dust Studio. I'm also a member of the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge Blog, where I get to embrace my dark and quirky side!! I also have my own challenge blog called Desert Islands Crafts Challenge.

What's new and exciting? Every day is new and exciting as I get to craft with wonderful images, and my craft stash, aswell as spending time with my Hubby Stewart.I think the most exciting thing for me at the moment is how well Desert Islands Crafts Challenge is doing, It was a mad Idea I had at the beginning of the year.  It is very simply really, twice a month we post a new Desert Island Itinerary, which is a list of 10 crafty items/themes/techniques that you'd want to take with youif you were stranded on a desert island. The challenge is to use at least 3 items from the list on your project, the more items you use the better. I love seeing all the different creations based on the same list.

My project I decided to make another card for the current Desert Islands Crafts Challenge, the challenge is open until 31st July, so you've still plenty of time to join in.

1st What's New Wednesday

Welcome to the FIRST What's New Wednesday!

Canadian Nickel Scrapn's first What's New Wednesday Guest Designer is the fabulous Cheri from Graphicat Designs.  Please make sure you pop into Graphicat Designs to check out the BLOG CANDY she is offering!!!!

Who is GRAPHICAT~ Graphicat is my alter creative ego persona I created when I studied Graphic Design way back (well we dont really NEED to say how long do we?) LOL I just combined my 2 fav things GRAPHICS and CATS. In fact when I was in art school, if I could possilbly sneak a cat into the illustration somehow I would and did, let's just say the instructors never needed to ask who's art was whose. :) AFter I finished art school, and freelance designed it was always under the Graphicat. My "Real" name is Cheri...and that's what my "peeps" call me (to my face anyhow! ;o) LOL)

What Im Up to ~ I am embarking on a fabulous new venture. I will very shortly be producing my own line of rubber and clear art stamps that will be sold in your local scrapbook stores as well as online at my new site (www.graphicatstamps.com) My stamps are unique in the how they....um..... ENHANCE your projects with humor! I LOVE to make people laugh and with the FABULOUS images out there these days (who can compete with that?!?!) Im designing sentiments and accessories stamps to go with those gorgeous images all the other companies are releasing....you know??

What's Exciting ~ My site will not JUST be an online store for just my stamps....there will be SO much more there.... a card makers paradise so to speak .... with embellishments and other stamps company images too (and of course you can still buy digital!!) There will be a community, with tutorials, and a members site where you can post your card for some feedback from the Crafty Catz.... and well.... I can't give you ALL my secrets. But I will say that it's IN CANADA... so you Canucks can get some of your favorite things from a Canadian and well... FASTER! how does THAT sound? Oh....and just one more thing.... if you're in BC...and want me to come to an event near you....well.... you just never know. That could happen too!

My project ~ This is what I mean by adding humour to your projects. These images are from Just Inklined (aren't they hilarious??) and my sentiment (There's No Snooze button on a cat who wants Breakfast) is that little something added to make you Laugh Out Loud!!!!! or it does me anyhow. :) I've coloured in Copics (Im a certified Copic Instructor and I will be giving video tutorials on how I colour on the site too)

BAD DT MEMBER...BAD!

I'm a bad, bad...BAD Team Member!  I feel like I'm skipping school, calling in sick...just slacking!  So to kiss a little ass I am at least going to post what my DT's are up to today in the hopes you will click the links and check out what my talented DT's have created.

OK super excited by this one!  Over at Scrappy Moms Stamps there are 2 NEW STAMP SETS releasing today!  I am simply GIDDY by the Happy Campers set!  Now, the postal strike ended at the end of June, I got my Happy Campers set, then left on vacation the next day for 9 days.  I just got home last week and have been busy with a lil somthin, somthin...see below.  {GIGGLE}  Our mail is still getting back to normal so I have to get my hands on Quirky Quotes but it looks FUN!  Click HERE to check out what the non-slacking DT has whipped up.

Canada Day Blog Hop

I have a fun project for you.  It's meant to poke fun at our recent postal strike and to celebrate our mail flowing across the country again!  I picked up this metal mailbox from Walmart for $5 and I was so excited to find one.  It's been sitting ion my craft room for a few months! 

I coloured up Summer Emo Christian from Simply Betty Stamps is reds and left the other bits white to match our flag!  I used MS Holy punch for the trim.  It kinda goes with our Maple Leaf.

For my second stamp I used Summer Zombie Betty.  It goes with the missmatch them of the "EH TEAM"!

Both these sentiments, "Happy Canada Day" and "The Eh Team?" are from Graphicat Design.  I adore her sentiments...they so fun!  Click HERE to check out her digi's and challenges.

I hope you got a kick out of my project.  I'm not in the country to celebrate with you all.  But I will be celebrating not only Canada Day but also my sweet husbands birthday.  Enjoy the day off, compliments of him.

Jude & the Rocker- Oscar

Oscar, Oscar, Oscar... ENORE!

Welcome to the last preview and Release day!  I hope you enjoyed all the releases this week on my blog and over at Simply Betty Stamps.  For Oscar I cut this Rockin star card from Birthdy Bash.  So many fun cuts on this cartridge.  The Rock On is also from the phrases.

Oscar is too cute.  I added a few extra stars.

Freedom Rocks is brand new from Yankee Doodle Dandy!  This patriotic stamp set is brand new from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  And yes, this Canadian girl had a HARD time thinking up something from this set.  But I got there.
