Welcome 2011 and a Giveaway!

Good-bye 2010 and Welcome 2011!

This is my last post for 2010 and how much fun I've had creating, pushing myself and meeting all you wonderful Stalkers!  I am just weeks away from my 1 year Blogaversary and I'm so stinkin excited.  I had no idea when I started where I'd be a year later.  I've met some amazing creative people and I have learned so much.  I can't believe my baby blog isn't much of a baby anymore.

I don't have a whole lot planned over the next while but I know I will be getting myself into something.  I will be in some Birthday Blog Hops in January and some releases.  It seems a few of my Bloggy Friends and I share Birthday's around the same time.  So, I have started to collect some crafty things to give away for my own Birthday/ Blogaversary since they both happened around the same time.

Here's a little peek what I've collected so far!

I'm trying to find as much stuff as I can to see you through a whole year of crafting.  So a little Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.  Plus some stuff I got from my favorite $1 Store.  I get asked a lot where some of my stuff comes from and often it's from there.  There's also a SU set that's mine I used once...does that matter?  Well anyway, I will keep collecting.  I'm going to hit some craft stores and see what fun stuff I can find.  Who knows, maybe an ATG Gun or a Cricut cartridge...or both if I hit a good sale?

This Giveaway is my gift to you, all my wonderful stalkers to say thank you for always coming!  My goal is to reach 1000 Stalkers by my Birthday, February 1st!  I will let you know as it grows, I have a month to collect!

Christmas Tag Swap

I thought I had posted this tag I made for KinderstampO's Christmas Tag Swap.  Ummm guess not!  If I did I couldn't find it in Novembers posts.  Here's Mercius from Simply Betty Stamps Steampunk Gang.  Check out these Victorian Gothics for something a little different.

I cut the tag out at 5" using my Plantin School Books and the scroll is cut from Christmas Cheer at 3".  How fitting to have a scroll with these Steampunks!

The DP is from an old pack of Stampin Up holiday paper.  And the Mercius is coloured up blending my Stampin Up Markers.

If you want to be apart of KinderstampO's monthly Tag Swaps check it out HERE.

New Cart for Christmas

Merry Chistmas and Happy Holidays to all my Stalkers!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I sure did and I got a new cart for Christmas, Winter Frolic.  I wasn't sure I was going to keep it until I saw it had a Tag Feature...woohoo!  And this cute little Beaver, just for being Canadian I needed that.  This card is for my FIL's Birthday on Dec 31st.

This Brrr-ific Beaver is cut at 3" with layers to match.  There's also a sentiment feature on this cart the is very wintery!  If you are looking to do some layouts for your holiday memories this cart is awesome.  The DP is from Simply Betty Stamps and it is super yummy!  Click the link to check out this Echo Park Paper!

This CUH-UTE sentiment is cut out at 3 1/2".  Then hit the "Shift" key to layer some key layers, in this case the "YOU" I cut in matching DP.  YUM!

A little added green buttons I picked up at my local $1 Store...which by the way is AWESOME!

This cute stamp is the newest stamp set from Scrappy Moms Stamps called "Designers Choice".... love this "Oldie but a Goodie"!  Then the present is a SU stamp that I stamped and Stickled.

Tim Holtz Card and some Sad News

Sorry I haven't been around much the last couple of weeks.  I know...it's not like me to just kinda disappear.  I share a lot on my little blog but this time it's taken me some time to not soak my keyboard with tears.  My beloved Grandfather (or OG to my Kids, meaning Old Guy) passed away on Sunday, December 19th.  It was thankfully peaceful and quick just as he wanted.

He was a Commercial Fisherman for 75 years and a Ski Instructor during the winter and taught me to ski when I was 2.  He had amazing stories while growing up and always made sure to tell me the scray ones.  My family is extremly important to me and as with any loss it is hard for those left behind.  So I cry when I need to, tell my kids that I'm ok and crying is good and enjoy the memories of a wonderful man and Grandfather.
An old picture and my favorite.  This is how I knew him on his boat in his flannel shirt and Stanfields

 My Grandparents Wedding Day.

Thanks to my DT's for being supportive and full of love.  I adore all my girls, they are all just the sweetest!  And thank you for taking a moment to read about someone very special.

TIM HOLTZ Tag made into a card

OK so since you know why I haven't touched all my crafty things in a bit my Crafty friends did.  They both are amazing and I am sneaking my one friend Carol's Christmas Card on my Blog.  This is my Christmas card this year.  Well, she added the rest of my family in the card but lets face it...it's for me...MWAHAHAAAA!  I am not taking this class with my girlfriends.  I was planning on it, then my Motorhome broke and that meant no extra crafty play this year:(

They did a crackle finish on the snowman and the tag has some sort of clear coating on it.

This cute tag has a Snow Bingo card on it and some adorable embellies!  Then Carol mounted it on a card and clear embossed a "SNOW" sentiment all over it.  It's "SNOW" Cute!

ONE LAST THING...

Since I missed the new release for Scrappy Moms Stamps newest stamp set "Designers Choice" I wanted to at least show it to you.  Click HERE to see what the rest of the DT has whipped up and there's a contest.  You have to figure out which DT came up with which saying.  Mine is obviuos so click HERE for details!

TBD Sketch Challenge

It's another fun Sketch Challenge this week at The Burtonesque Dolls.  This awesome sketch and Jack image was created by Graphic Cat Creations

I usually...ok always colour before I pick out my paper colours.  And today ot backfired.  Ohhhh I wish Jack Sandy Claws suit was coloured up in teal.  Oh well, now he pops!  The paper is ECHO PARK paper I get to play with.  This paper is soooo YUMMY, click HERE to get some for yourself!  It is thick gorgeous paper!

I cut the black card stock at 5"x 10" then scored at 2 1/2" and again at 5".  Fold the 2 1/2" sore back on it's self so it makes almost a Z shape.

I used my fabulous $1 Store Buttons for the embellishments as shown on the Sketch.  The sentiment is mine and then I also stamped a Winter Wishes sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

OK, here is your fun Sketch, click HERE to see what the DT created and so you can make one too!  Oh and add your link.

12 Days of Christmas Day 9

If you are looking for the "KinderstampO- It's a Small World" Blog Hop scroll down or click HERE!

It's Day 9 for the 12 Days of Christmas at Simply Betty Challenges

Now it's time to visit with the Ghost of Christmas past... this little guy is a favorite among many! Why it's Zero Jack's little Ghost dog Reindeer! And your prize for today's challenge!

The challenge is... show us your best SBS Ghost of Christmas past creation! Think Scrooged! Just have fun and show us the Ghosts! I can just see School boy Miller with that confused look on his face... wondering "Did I really just see the ghost of Christmas past!" You have until the 13th to ring in those spirits!

For my Ghosts of Simply Betty Stamps past I went with Tootsie, Mummy Lola and Rio School Girl.  I even made Mummy Lola huge like in the movie!  I put my Markers down and picked up my pencil.  My HB Pencil has always been my favorite medium to work with.  Although getting it to blend on SU paper wasn't very easy.  I decided on pencil after they were printed.

This Scrappy Moms Stamps Winter Wishes is too cute.  I know there's not a bear to be seen, but I couldn't help myself!  I mean, it's all about getting to Christmas!

KinderstampO's "It's a Small World" Blog Hop

Welcome everyone and Happy Holidays.  I hope you've been enjoying hopping through all the festive projects from all over the world!  If you are just arriving, passport in hand and have your itinerary, you need to click HERE to start your journey!  If you are on target and made all your connections you should be arriving from Lisa's part of the world.

WELCOME TO CANADA, EH!

I hope you've enjoyed your trip to this point.  Pull out your Toque, grab a piece of Moose Jerky, crack a Molson Canadian, turn down the Hockey Game and I'm sorry if I'm rambling away, EH.  There, did I manage to stuff enough cliche's in there.  And yes, we do say sorry a lot;)

Here is my Canadian inspired project...HOLIDAY TINS...5 of them!  These holiday tins were created for my husband's Christmas Party and were given to staff.  Each tin was stuffed with 5 gift cards, toque, t-shirt and a day off work worth $250 each.  However, if I was filling these with baking for a gift they would be filled with BUTTER TARTS, click HERE!  MMMMMM...although this is not my recipe, it is Canadian and a Grandma's recipe so good enough!  Yes, Canadian's take there Butter Tarts very, very seriuos!  Let me know if you love Butter Tarts too?

Each tin has a Simply Betty Stamps image on a 5" tag cut from Plantin School Books cart.  And each one has a sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps, Winter Wishs stamp set.  This first one is "Merry Betty" from the Emo Christmas Collection.  The stockings are cut from Christmas Cheer at 3".  All the cuts on the upcoming tins are cut from Christmas Cheer at 3".

Each tag has Christmas, red, green and gold Stickles.

This is Tristian from the Punky Teens Christmas Collection .  He is one of my fav's with his saw taking down a tree.  But, I'm sure he did the humaine thing and sedated the trunk first;)

This awesome Santa is "Bahumbug Christian".  I glued cotton for his beard and Santa suit.

All the colouring for all the digi's have been coloured with STAMPIN UP MARKERS.

Now you know the EMO's have a special spot in my heart and "Prezzie's Lola" is no exception.  With her little bat and creepy presents...oh I just heart her!

How can you not LOVE "Elfin Miller", he is so much fun to colour and create with.  I never get tired of making fun projects with him.

I hope you enjoyed my tins and found some inspiration for your holiday projects.  If you've been too scared to try Digi's what are you waiting for, CLICK HERE!!!  These digi's are so fun to colour!  If you want to learn how I coloured these without Copics click HERE.  Just don't forget to pause the Christmas Music at the top!

If you get lost along your journey stop and ask for directions!
Jess
