Welcome
to the All Thing Altered Blog Hop. You're right at the beginning and I'm the 2nd stop. You should be popping in from Scrapbook Flair.
I haven't put up my Christmas goodies yet so the garland is still in storage in the garage. You'll have to use your imagination with green garland, berries, pine cones and warm red lights.
I have a super easy project and very inexpensive to decorate your mantle. I picked these wood letters at Walmart, $1.47 each and splurged on the fancy jingles, $7 for 24.
I used spray adhesive on the letters and loaded them up with red glitter. WEAR GLOVES...I was a mess!
I painted the letters in green first to give it a deep coat. Then I did a layer of gold paint, let dry, then one more coat of gold glitter.
Here are those jingles. I used hot glue to put them in place.
I popped the "Make Merry" on my mantle.
When the garland goes up I'll tuck the letters in it. The glitter will be shiny!
NOEL
I painted Noel with a white base, then layered silver, let dry and a then a coat of silver glitter.
I used blue and silver jingles for the the "O" and hot glued them into place.
Thanks for hopping by. I hope you found my project fun and affordable! Be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs to also have more chances to win some goodies!
Now off you go to Scraps of Life.
Nicole, I just love the way you altered simple, wooden letters into something fantastically glitzy! I'm thinking this is within my capabilities even if I'm known to be quite dangerous with a spray can of paint! Thanks for the inspiration.
