Butterfly Discoveries

A specimen or 2 of colorful butterflies.  I picked out this mini pallet and how adorable is it!  The mini wood pallet is 6"x 6" and it's so much fun to create with!

Xyron and Maya Road have teamed up for some creative fun.

Check it out!

I started with all this fun stuff for the Mini Pallet, including Distress Oxide Inks.  I used my own stain of vinegar, steel wool and a tea bag and painted it on the mini pallet.  I inked up the Bell Jar and Mini Butterflies.

A little stamping with on the bell jar for background.  Then run the mini butterflies through the Create a Sticker.  Rub the butterflies to help the adhesive get good coverage.

Ok, the Bell Jar has an acetate glassy look.  Yep, I ran it through the Creative Station... with that clear acetate.  Layer all the sticky bits and YAY the glass jar sticks clear.  No glue streaks or dots.

I cut a 2 1/2"x 12" strip of watercolor then inked more oxide ink.  DELISH!  Perfect for the Butterfly Frenzy die with a billon butterflies.

I sanded the edges and some texture paste right onto the mini wood pallet.  I cut the Hanging Sign so you guessed it... I could hang the sign.

OMGOSH I love the Bell Jar stamped and butterflied with specimens.

You can see a glassy look of the jar!

Someone left the jar open of Specimen No.9

I positioned all the butterflies flying out and around.

I am loving the colorful butterflies against the rustic stained wood mini pallet!

Check out what the rest of the DT has been creating all this week with their Maya Road goodies!

Xyron has a little giveaway EVERY DAY this week... ummm I want one!  Please leave a comment on the Xyron Facebook Page for a chance to win the Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker.

  5. Honestly, this project just blows me away! Such creative genius to layer up all those things under the acetate. The oxides create such an eretheral effect on all those butterflies and that mini pallet makes for a really cool background especially colored with your stain mix. I am so in awe, one of my favorite projects I have seen.
