Explore Passport

I finally get to share with you one of my projects I have published in the recent issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.  I never know when I am designing for the magazine "when" or "if" my projects will make it into the issue.  I am thrilled this one made it.

Check it out.

I used real leather and cut with the Passport Book die.  I sanded the edges to get that worn look.  I inked up some mat board for the letters and set aside to dry.

I love that the pages can be cut with the die too.  I inked the pages then added some Ephemera pieces.

I used glue n'seal and black soot marker to create the smudging.

My assignment was to use a magazine to journal.  I used the Fall issue and cut out the title and balloons for one of the pages.

I cut the inked Block Talk Capital XL Die to create the "EXPLORE" for the front.

I glued the leather pieces together to for the Passport Book then I glued the Explore.  I wanted the Passport Book to close, so I used the Pocket Envelope circles.

I pierced and punched a hole through the leather so I could add the brad.  For extra hold it's a good idea to add some glue.

I smashed the brad and wiped off any excess glue.  I used a thin piece of  leather for the tie off then cut a leather Artful Arrow.

A simple Leather Passport Book holder.

My friend had a great idea to add a pouch for a real passport.

The pages are perfect for adding little items you may pick up along the way.  Like tickets, photo's or a spot to write a memory.

That crushed brad looks awesome!

You can add 3 pages to the book.

This is durable enough to travel with.

The latest issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine is on newstands.  You can see this project and so many more.
