April Tag that isn't really a Tag it's the Eileen Hull Passport Book.
I was having a fire this weekend with my family and we were using birch wood. I love that papery layer of bark. I thought it would be perfect for my April Tag.
Using mat board to cut the passport book and inking with distress sprays before gluing down the pieces of birch paper... I mean bark!
I don't have the Collage Kit yet so I used my crackle paste and started snipping for the watering can!
Carefully I used glossy accents.... waiting! I cut one of the pages with corrugated cardboard and had some distress crayon fun!
So... I decided to see if I could print on Sizzix new Leather paper! Yep, you can.
I added a bunch of layers with stamping, photobooth cards and this
fluer crest brad. It takes the distress crayon well.
Without the Collage Kit the textured crackle paste makes a good grout.
Add some tiny tattered floral and some embellishments.

Pages with texture
I added a matchbook die to the inside cut on leather paper and stamped.
Inside the matchbook
Leather page with some stamping and photobook images.
The
fluer crest brad adds a pop of colour and the distress crayon smudges on the photo.
The leather paper is great for inking and stamping.
Leather page
Printing on leather paper is awesome with these vintage pharmacy labels.
Corrugated page
The peeled page and stenciled look is great.
Inside I added the envelope die cut with Core paper and the seed packs.
More pharmacy labels on leather.
peeled paper and stenciled distress crayon pages.
Paper stash page
Stamping, rubs and printed leather paper label.
I love the Alphanumeric die with
Hammered Metal embossing powder. The little specks that end up on the birch really adds a grungy look.
The back of the book has more peeled birch bark... I mean paper.
I love the thick jute!
It all started with an idea...
I love adding the natural layer with the birch peeled right off the log. If I get time and my collage kit arrives I'll attempt another tag. It will be great to see how it compares. Not a bad option if you don't have the kit.
This is amazing!!!! You are so clever using birch bark and the final result is so cool! Bravo!
