Craft Room Organization; Part 3- Wall Storage

Just hanging around!

In my case having a small space means having to be creative with storage!  Look no further than the walls!  Although, even if I had a big room I would still use the walls.  My goal here with creating my "creative space" is to see all my crafty things.  I'll get to my "open shelving" soon;) Ikea is ideal for the look I'm trying to achieve.  My room has wood, glass and metal.  And the galvanized wall storage at Ikea fit my vision and my wallet.

My stencils!  I had them all on one small ring like for keys.  UGH flipping through them drove me NUTS!  When I was getting all my $3 bars and S Hooks it dawned on me to hang them up!
Now each stencil is on it's own hanging free of each other and hooking into each other.  I can see all the patterns and when one jumps out I simple grab it.  What a dream!  Using S Hooks to hang your stencils is a winner!
This trio of 22" bars hang right behind me so turning around to grab when I need is effortless.  These long metal baskets are a steal at $5.  Holding my tapes, glue dots and favorite ribbon is readily available.
The last bar holds my goodies I use often including tool, distressing and water crushes.
At my desk are these 39" bars.  This is my high use stuff including 2 buckets, $5 each holding my misters, glue and scissors.  I even have my heat gun hanging with an S Hook!
Not to mention each basket holds my distress paints, stains and glitter. I have space to add one more when I need more storage.
I use ALL of these!
One of my first decisions was to have these big metal pieces to hold all my Movers and Shapers!  I LOVE this system.  I can see all my magnetic dies.

They sold me 2 displays for $10 each since they had no stock. What a deal! These were cheap anyway at $16 each.

I love all my Cargo Stencil numbers trimming the bottom.

My husband attached 2 anchors one each wall to create a long wire for my tags.  This is 12' of display space.

Now my desk is free of all storage.  All this room to create.

Thanks for checking out Part 3- Wall Storage!  More to come!

  1. Looking great! I too have a tiny room, which I share with a dresser, bookshelves, a file cabinet, and an exercise bike. Very frustrating! I just got a Cameo but still use my E2 - I have to keep moving them to use one or the other. And if I take my laptop in there to use my Cameo, I have no deskspace for it plus the project I"m working on. Someday I hope to make the room all mine!
