Giveaway and the Grungy Garden

Yep I am hosting a Giveaway. A little thank you for all the votes and support you shared during the Sizzix Who Are You contest!!!  Check out the project and you'll scroll your way to the giveaway. Before we get to my giveaway I wanted to show you a project I was "challenged" to do. I am not big on pattern papers.  I was challenged to create a project using the new Graphic 45 Botanical paper.  I wouldn't say I love Graphic 45 paper.  I wouldn't say I like the botanical paper...but keep in mind flowery isn't my thing when it comes to paper.  With that said I happily accept.  My goal here was to take "pretty" paper and make it grungy for this mini shadow box.  I distressed, inked and cracked.  I even fussy cut.  UGH... Flowers aren't my thing but I do love my tattered floral dies including the Jumbo one!  Using the pattern paper (usually I would make my own) I inked with vintage photo and stormy sky.  The wee center flower is a fussy cut from a sh…

12 Tags of 2014- February Tag

I won't be submitting this one for Tim's blog as I already submitted, HERE.  However, I did still want to make this months "TAG".  I followed the tutorial on Tim's blog and how lovely it turned out! I LOVE this stamp set! The chalk art technique is awesome. I don't have the trim and arrow used so I made do with what I have!  The stacked stars edge die and foil tape is a lovely compromise. I used the game spinners and a wee sprocket as an arrow. I attached some red tinsel to soften the harsh line of the edge die. Love the new Heart Stencil.  OK I love all the stencils.  Click HERE to see how I store my stencils. So excited to own this new stamp set.  I have used it a lot already!
LAST DAY TO VOTE!!! Head over to SIZZIX WHO ARE YOU and vote for me!VOTE #9
I need all the votes I can get so VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!  Then share with all your friends to vote for me too, #9! Thanks for voting and for your comments!

For this month I have created a canvas trying the techniques used by Tim.  I will be creating a Tag but my heart stencil and stamps set are still en route heading north from Simon Says Stamps.  I did try to wait but I was too excited! The Jumbo Tattered Floral is quickly becoming a favorite.  I guess I'm longing for spring. The Garden Greens big die is fabulous.  I meant to dip it in crackle but I coated the cuts in glossy accents.  They still turned out amazing.  I used alcohol inks on the steams and what was a mistake…

I braved the top of my desk to bring you this shot!  Impressive.  Remember my Craft Room Storage my husband and son built me last summer!  Well it was on a different wall and I decided I wanted it on this wall.  Where it's 2" to long to fit.  My loving patient husband took it apart and ripped it down to fit!  YAY! Here is the piece he re sized for me.  Love having my Big Shot, Vagabond and shims all in one spot. On the other side all my dies are separated a…

Love this Harlequin stencil!  I used peacock feathers distress ink. Isn't that pretty! I was going to stop there.  But then I saw picked raspberry!
