Love Stamp, but only one?????

WARNING!!!!  CHEEKY POST AHEAD
{I just don't know what's gotten into me today?}

How many times have you looked at a stamp set and really liked one or 2 stamps.  OMG...that's me every time.  My GF and I just had this chat about this stamp, Stampers Anonymous stamp set Urban Chic.  She was trying to decide if she wanted it.  I said get it and in the end she didn't and now blames me!  It did get me thinking...what a great class this might be...challenge accepted.  Today I'm teaching a class making this card using a stamp set with a great stamp or 2...but what to do with the rest of the OK stamps?

JUST STAMP THE SHIT OUT OF THE DAM THING
{I did warn you}

...and make your own Designer Paper with your not so favorite stamps.  You know what...these frilly, girlie stamps are actually growing on me now that I've layered them.

But only just a little.

I layered these not so attractive CHICK stamps using a few TH inks, Spun Sugar, Warn Lipstick and Walnut Stain.

This Walnut Stain Ink is like the "Bread to my Butter", "Peanut Butter to my Jelly"...that shit goes on everything!!! Kinda like the Franks Red Hot Sauce!

I cut the these tiny strips too small on purpose.  I wanted the stamp to spill over.  So be sure to distress the edges first and ink them, glue them into place and then STAMP!  I know...all backwards but you can do it.  If you need a moment to wrap your crafty brain around this method you can take it...

{Taking a Moment....}
{Shhhhh....}

Grab a few inks light, darker and then a contrast ink to create a layered look.

No embellishments, no ribbon, no glitter!  I know...I'm off my rocker today.  But really, next time you're looking at that stamp set with the KICK ASS stamp and boring other stamps.  Pause...and maybe look at it differently!

NOW GO STAMP SOME PAPER!
{Ya, I caps yelled at you.}

A Tag, A Card and Posting on my App

I've had my Blogger App for iPad for a bit. I have never posted using it since it does lack a lot of what I'm used to on my PC. However, I thought I would try it for a quick post. Might be fun now and again. And I can stay on my couch.

My tag is up first. I'm teaching this class tomorrow and thought I'd share. Just a quick easy tag using acetate and some butterflies. Pretty, spring like and fluttery butterflies.

A card and a watercolour leaf. Last week I taught a class using this seasonal Tim Holtz Autumn stamp set. The goal here is explore using a seasonal tag in a non seasonal way. We used watercolour paper and made a fall leaf into a spring leaf.

Simple and cute:)

Love Stuff and New Stamps

Scrappy Moms Stamps has some new fun stamps to play with!  Love is definitely in the air!  My stamps always arrive last minute so here's a little something I threw together this morning.   I got to finally play with my new Love Struck die I bought last fall...70% off;)  (So sorry for the photo quality.  I usually use my big fancy camera but my monitor died on the main computer.)

I made a TAG...

I made my own DP using white tissue and stamped the Lips from the "With all my Heart" set.  I followed through on the ticket and "SMOOCHES"

I really love this next sentiment from the "With all my Heart" set.  Isn't it a perfect match for my gentleman stamp!  These wee cards are 3"x3" so they are quickies!

Don't forget the inside!  The corner punch is Martha Stewart.

"2 Thumbs Up" is stamp set number 2!  With some thumb prints and cute accessories you can use these for almost any occasion.

Again the inside of the Thumb card.  How cute are these!

The whole fun set featuring stamps from both new SMS!

Check them out!!!!

Thanks for popping in.  Now, what can you make with these!

Masculine Set Class

I'm Teaching!

WHOA...it's true I am now teaching crafty classes at my local scrapbook store. I simply went to enquire about the teachers job and left with it!  Not sure how that happened.  But I've been teaching afternoon classes for a few months.  I'm about to take on my first evening class. I'm both nervous and excited.  I wanted to show you what I whipped up for my first class.

You know crafting Masculine can be a challenge.  For me as you know I love it.  And yes, it is a challenge, especially when I've been given 24 hours to create 3 projects!  First, I made an acetate pillow box.  Perfect for a teen or any guy.  Load with a gift card to a gaming store or fill with some beer nuts?

Next I made a very manly card!  This one was my husband's favorite:)  Nothing says guy like diamond plate and tread marks!

For my last one a tag that holds a gift card.  Remember, I posted something similar a couple weeks ago, click HERE to see.  I followed the gears through out and used my melting pot!

On display and ready for signing up!  These are all dripping with testosterone and are functional...just like guys!

I think it's going to be pretty fun!  Wanna come craft?

Lunch Bag Mini Album

I made a paper bag mini for my in laws for Christmas. The paper bags are lunch bags. I loaded them up will all sorts of goodies. Take your time looking.

This is my first time making Mini Albums.  I found the process building the paper bag into the album frustrating.  So, in the end I winged it.

For the binding I used grunge paper to wrap.  It's just pliable enough.  I aged it and cut the edge Distressed Doily.

Seriously, this poinsettia die is good for anything.  Not just Christmas!  Cut the flower using grunge paper, tissue paper and then age it with ink.  I then coated with Rock Candy Stickles.  The metal button is from my Grandmothers stash I just got.  So cool...

The main paper is all from a Recollections pack...Ummm Union Square?  I used various papers, tags and small paper bags for tucking in goodies.

I'm not much of a sticker person.  However, I found them useful when making these albums.  This sticker pack is a Tim Holtz pack I picked up at 70% off last year!  STEAL...

The Artful Dwellings die (on the left) is perfect for making a scene.  I used Distress Stains, Weather Wood, Broken China and Picket Fence for this page.  A family photo on a #5 embossed tag...oh ya!  The other side is my oldest son tucked into the broken birdcage.

Again (on the left) the Tattered Poinsettia cut with that glossy Kraft paper stuff.  The 3 gents are simply stamped on grunge paper and a photo of my husband and I are attached to a tag and tucked into a pocket. Using these pockets gives the "Gift-E" an adventure in exploring their new mini album!

More pockets and family photo's.  But a page with stamped tags, stickers and grunge cutouts makes the page fun and full of dimension!  Look at your scrap paper.  I made a banner with mine.

Here on the back you cab see the binding I wrapped.  And a final touch with a stamp from Scrappy Moms Stamps!  Just looks more finished!

It's been a few weeks since I made these albums.  Just go onto YouTube and type in Brown Paper Bag Mini Album.  You'll find some great tutorials.  The one I watched was hard to follow.

This one was for my Mother In Law.  I still have my Father In Laws to show you.

Thanks for looking:)

12 Tags of 2013 {January}

January Tag #1

{Ohhh how I'm going to try and make ALL 12 tags this year}

Last year I think I made half. I must admit, I really love this tag.  I'm a big fan of the gears and they were my first TH die I ever bought in November 2011.  Yep, I remember...sorta!

I had some of the stuff for the January tag, some I didn't and some I picked up.

I have never stamped ribbon before.  Ummm...liked it!  I don't have the January stamp, bit I have the row of numbers from the Stampers Anonymous, Little Labels.  Love these numbers!  All the stamps are from this set.

I don't have the label so I simply stamped and cut out the pointy finger.  Put up your hand if you LOVE this finger stamp!  MEEEEE....!!!!!  I have it in both sizes.  I always have the Hinge Clips in my stash.

I just happened to have the metal findings gears.  I was looking at the clock hands, but I really didn't want them.  So I went without.  Not bad eh?

I really love the colour combo Tim used.  I'm sure I'll be trying this again.  There are so many layers that make up any great crafty project.  I need to think more ink!

If you don't have all the stuff, just use what you do have.  The point is to try the techniques.  And if you want to get something...wait for the sale!  It always pays off;)

Winter Tic Tac Toe Hop/Terrific Tuedsay Challenge

Happy New Year

"Thank you for joining us for our Winter Tic Tac Toe Hop/Terrific Tuesday Challenge! We decided to change this TTC up a little and have some fun. We will be giving away a prize for this TTC all on it's own. In order to qualify for the drawing you will need to visit all the stops on the hop - on the final blog there will be a "Secret Phrase" to find. The challenge portion is to create a project using the Winter Tic Tac Toe board below. Use the 3 items in any row - up, down, or diagonal - to make your project and link it.

Here is my project - I made a Mini Box Album. The box is Graphics 45 I've held onto all year! Although not wintry...it was snowing outside when I made it last week.  Does that count?

Oh my this was fun to make.

There is not enough posting space to show you everything I did in the 12 hours it took to make this.  There are tags, pullouts, flaps and the kitchen sink in there.

The book is a collection of images from our 2012 Travels!  My husband and I in Paris and the stamps belonged to my Grandmother.

I cut Velcro using my Key Movers and Shapers die,  Better than a boring square.

Using various stamps, stickers and postage stamps to decorate.  Just some of our family exploring this summer on Vancouver Island.

Just got the clock die!  OMG LOVE IT!

I rusted the clock bits using iron paint and activator!  One of my favorite techniques!

I picked up TH Travel paper pack and stickers just to create a travel mini.  And I actually did it!

I listed all the places we went to this year.  Paris got a whole page!

Over 2 pages using the TH Travel sticker pack, I applied stickers to all the States we took our kids in the motor home. Rusting the Mini Jalopy!

A collection of French Stickers.

My kids in the Grand Tetons.  I printed the photo's on printer paper.  Nothing fancy!

New favourite die, the vintage globe.  Cutting on grunge board and painting in cream.  The rest of the globe is cut again, glued and rusted.  Just LOVE IT!

I simply print the photo's small and folded the strip.  Attaching it to a small tag it's a great way to add multiple photo's in a small space.  Great surprise opening this tag,

The Made with Love stamps is fantastic!  Stamped, cut and distressed this stamp really makes it's mark.

Here you can really see this awesome globe.  And rusting the land and stand really makes it old world!

Here's your tick tac toe image.  Simply pick a line of 3, create, upload to your blog for a chance to win some great SMS Swag!

I hope you liked my project.  I am always giving stuff away.  And this one was for my husband Christmas morning.  Oh ya...I got some tears!  Mission accomplished!
