Let the Lantern light Shine

Another round of the Rustic Lanterns. This time all decked out with a festive flare and twinkle lights. I wanted to make more of these lanterns and I thought they would be a compliments to my "A Place for Christmas" Place Settings I made last week.

I picked all these goodies up at Scrapbooker's Paradise where I teach fun crafty things to people who know more than I do;p

I "just" bought the Movers and Shapers Mini Jingle Bell for this project...and others.  I used festive berries distress paint then a coat of festive berries distress glitter for the grungepaper bells.  The greenery is from the tattered pine cone die.

I cut 10 rustic lanterns with chipboard and strung them to a piece of twine.

I layered the lantern in distress paints black soot and brushed pewter.  Then at random I inked again with embossing ink, sprinkle with black soot distress embossing powder.  Before heating I rubbed off the embossing powder to distress further.  Creating a worn metal finish.

I attached some mini indoor LED lights to the back attaching the metal wire with hot glue.  Each lantern has 2 lights.

Here they are against my black granite so you can easily see the glow.  I use the LED lights as they have no heat.  Safety matters!

I think it turned out pretty festive.  This Rustic Lantern turned Christmas is a favorite!  Thank you for taking a moment to look:)
