12 Tags of 2012 Decmber x4

Since I'm still basking in the glory of my recent November Tag win, {*SNORT*...not basking more like still in shock} I got to thinking about the next round of tags!

BTW...thank you sincerely to all that jumped on to my November Tag post and left me such lovely comments of Congratulations.  What a lovely start to my day.  I was super touched!

Oops got off track there...it happens!  UGH, what was I going to do without that cute snowman stamp...did I mention I have a love of snowmen!

Keep reading since clearly I made the tag with it!

At the time (a couple days ago) I didn't have the stamps for the snowman. However, a great coupon and lack of will power later and I was walking out of my LSS with this awesome set!  Don't worry, I have alternate options for you.

These are my only daubers, oh and picket fence (not shown) and no silver dauber but I have the alcohol inks so I'm going for it.  Use the blending solution  though, otherwise it's way to thick with silver.  Just load the craft mat.

There it is my snowman being used for the first time with Archival.  I didn't think I had watercolor paper...looks like I do.

I don't have the Distress Markers.  I know, I know, me whom loves to colour.  But I have all my SU Markers and no need for more.  So, look what I used with my watercolour pen.  Works just as well so if you don't have the markers and you do have the inks go for it.  If I didn't already have the blender pens, I would try a wet Q-Tip to apply the ink?  Doesn't hurt right?

SQUEEEEZING out what little I have left of my Stickles.  I did some on the holly too.  I needed a little more bling because I'm a girl and sparkle draws me in!!!!

C'mon...you knew I would be bringing out the Oven Liner for this project.  Here I have the center piece ready for cutting.  I used this for my letters and the snowflake.

I cut my oven liner up to fit the letters on the Word Play die.  Did you know the "O" in JOY is the # "O" from the Word Play die?  I figured that out after I cut the letter "O".  {Lookie how loved this die is!}  I also cut the letters and snowflakes with grungeboard then glued the same cut of oven liner over top.  It's not mirrored but it is silver metallic...I'll take it!

Then pop it all together. As soon as I got home I re-made this tag with the snowman.  I know, it's supposed to be a card.  I do have all the paper, but I need these as tags as they are going on wine bottles for Christmas.

You can't even tell I used the ink pads to watercolour!

Where's the Washi you might be asking yourself?  I could say I didn't care for it so omitted it...I could say that.  But lets be honest... I was hopped up with the thrill of my new stamps I forgot it.

I couldn't find a metal snowflake so I have some alternatives for you.  This snowflake is from my TH Winter Wonder die, gungeboard and oven liner.  Then as a little pop a tiny blue flower thingy.

Tag 2 is very similar.  I was planning on the red flower, some tissue I have kicking around from a shoe box.  But, I had this Tattered Poinsettia flower left over from my Christmas Wreath.  On it went!  Again no Ink Stain Daubers so I used the same Technique I used for the November Tag, Barn Door and Fire Brick inks, Mini Mister and drag.  Like the snowman tag, gold alcohol ink with the blending solution added in.

I change the leafy part out from silver to gold to match the tag.

The big ticket is cut from a Movers and Shapers (what was it again?), then I stamped with Vintage Photo ink this ledger stamp I have kicking around.  At the bottom I stamped December from a Recollections set I have.  I lost the dot for JOY so a pearl embellishment works!

You guessed it, no deer embellishment.  However, anything goes so "Cherish" charm is popped in place.

BONUS TAGS

Here I have 2 similar tags.  This one I made the day before I picked up the stamps...darn that lack of will power!  I did stamp the Toy Soldier after I got them.  I used a wooden snowflake attached here.  And the Washi I stole from my GF.

Here's another one I made after I got the stamps.  The Toy Soldier die makes 2 soldiers when you cut as you use 2 colours.  When I made another tag with my spare soldier I stamped the soldier from my new stamp set and to my surprise he fits!  BONUS!!!!  NOEL is still drying, (I'm sooo impatient) it's cut from Word Play.

I know it was a BIG POST!!!

Thanks for sticking it out and if you actually read all my drivel...WOW GOLD STAR FOR YOU!!!  If you don't have everything think of what you do have and have fun!  And don't be like me with no WILL POWER!

OH and 1 more fact.  Tim looks personally at EVERY ENTRY for the 12 Tags.  How do I know this...I asked Mario.  Seriously, these guys are so gracious!

  6. I received a form letter email from Tim Holtz's blog indicating only one Tag entry allowed. I had entered mulitple in Nov and did not receive a notice on limit and did not see anywhere on the blog that there was a limit. I also had entered the Dec Tag challenge, was #1 entry. Went back to enter a 2nd and discovered that my 1st entry was deleted so reentered it and then received the email about limit of 1 so only entered the one. Do you know what's up with that? I also commented on TH blog that I had received limit email and did not know there was a limit and would TH confirm this but no response.
