I went to a wedding on the weekend and that means a card. UGH...I wish I had taken a photo of the invitation because I deconstructed the card to make my card. I thought it would be sentimental.
I had my Jalopy all cut on grunge, inked with black and distressed with Walnut Stain ink. A coat of Rock Candy crackle and this car looks old and leathery! I cut the wedding invitation (the part with all the info) and mounted the car on it. Although, I should have jotted down the Church address, time and reception. Oops!
I ventured out in a snowstorm to look for wee bells but couldn't find any yet. So I tied 3 red jingle bells to the rear to simulate wedding bells.
I stamped my TH Ticket stamp then stamped again in red with this borrowed "MR &MRS" Teresa Collins stamp.
Cutting up more of the invitation I used my TH Pocket Envelope die cut for the card holder. Then with the Cargo Stensil die I cut the #10, the day they were married. Layer some acetate behind the number and then I cut the fold off. I used my 1"circle punch for the notch.
The inside of the card is stamped with
Scrappy Moms Stamps "So Happy for You" from Mini Messages stamp set.
All opened up!
Friday was a very snowy cold day so it was pretty dark out. Happily the wedding day was sunny with a fresh blanket of snow...but it was cold!
Sometimes taking an invitation and rebuilding it into somthing that is yours can be a fun way to gift back. Especially, if you want to give something that is sentimental. After all a gift card is just a gift card. But making it into the couples wedding invitation makes it pretty special to them.
LOVE it! what a great wedding card
