It's a Party

Birthday Invitation!Simple and cute was my goal for my son's birthday party invitations.  I asked him if he wanted a tag invite or card.  He said tag because he knows I love to make tags:)  But when I asked him if he really wanted a card it was a yes.  How adorable!!! I cut the "11" out using Plantin School at 4 1/2" with the shadow layer.  I wanted the "11" to pop so I kept the rest of the card subtle.  Then I embossed using my TH gears folder to keep it BOY!
I stamped "PARTY" with Hooray for Birthdays, Scrappy Moms Stamps.
Look at my new Scrappy Moms Stamp Alphabet Soup.  These new Scrabble stamps are so awesome.  There are so many things you can do with these.

Have a great weekend!

How I made May's Tag

12 Tags of 2012- May Tag x2 I actually built these last weekend but only finished assembly this morning.  Wow, I feel so late!  Hey, did you hear, I was picked as a winner for Tim's April Tag!!!  Woohoo I am really excited.  That means Tim Holtz was on my blog...WOWZERS! I made 2 tags again for Tim's May Tag.  I borrowed a lot and rummaged even more!  Check out the 2 tags I made in 2 different ways.  The first tag is most like May's Tag.  My 2 girlfriends have mostly everything between the 2 of them.

My one GF has old tissue sewing patterns and brought them over for us to use.  My other GF has the stamps so I was all set.  They also brought over the hangers and charms.  I used my small SU circle punch and punched from the TH pattern paper for the charm.
I am not a sewer at all so I just glued down the measuring tape ribbon.
I did pick up the wooden spools from Michaels for us, $1 each.  I also have the Melting Pot and UTEE so we were set to make the flowers.  These …

Birthday Card for My Dad

It's my Daddy's Birthday Today!I had so much fun making this card.  I was able to use a lot of new things I have been wanting to try, stamps, dies and paper!  I just got this awesome pattern paper yesterday from Stampin Up.  It's so masculine and fun.
I have these great 7 Gypsies tickets kicking around.  So I stamped the Vintage Car on it and embossed.  I just love this car!
Just look how awesome my Hooray for Birthdays, Scrappy Moms Stamp fits in this bottle cap.  I stamped the "HB", embossed, and punched with my 1" circle punch.  It adds a great layer.

A little piece of burlap instead of ribbon is very masculine.  Instead of gluing the ticket down I used my Tiny Attacher to staple it down.  Very Guy like!

On the inside I cut the gears die in cork and stamped again from Hooray for Birthdays.

Cutting the gears in grungeboard is great way to accent in a masculine way.  I used Espresso and Black paint daubers to colour the gears then attached again with the …

Bagged this Mothers Day Card

I got this one in the bag!  I picked up the new Tim Holtz die "In The Bag" for this Mothers Day card.  I cut the bag out using Kraft paper and embossed it.  Then I filled it with Scrappy Moms Stamps Pinwheels from the pinwheel die and straws.

Using the same sentiment printed out I attached it to the bag.  The I cut my Movers and Shapers Butterfly out with grungeboard and paper, topped off with Diamond Glaze for a glossy butterfly.
I used the same Eiffel Tower stamp I used yesterday.  Only this was my "scrap" paper I was testing with for all the stamps and techniques.  I liked it so much I made a card around it.
I attached this left over print out sentiment in the bottom corner.
A bag full of pinwheels makes for a fun card! I hope you have a wonderful Mothers Day!  Wishing all the Moms a great one!

Mothers Day Card

HELLO, ARE YOU THERE?  Remember me?Have you made your Mom a card yet?  This is one of the Mothers Day cards I made today.  I tried to go simple but I just never seem to stop.  I picked up a 6x6 Paris Paper pack awhile back and this stamp.  They pair so pretty together.

I stamped a french script, then layered this Eiffel Tower stamp and clear embossed.  Using inks and water I made the paper look old and weathered.  It's not talent, I'm just making a mess.
I roughed up all the edges for a vintage look.  But really I'm hiding all my crooked cuts and mistakes.  See, bet you can't see what I real mess it is!
I just printed my sentiment on my printer for the inside of the card.  Then punched this MS border heart punch and a pretty simple layer.
Printing the same sentiment I punched and glued it onto this acrylic block.  Then mounted it onto a little rosette flower I made using a piece of dictionary paper.  I just fan folded the paper, trimmed the edges and fluffed it…
